Ascendance definitely needed a nerf and it needed to get hit pretty hard, but ele outside of ascendance and ascendance procs doesn’t really do too much damage, its not that threatening and it also requires a decent amount of casting (again, assuming no asc or asc proc).
With the nerfs coming tuesday, ele actually got nerfed outside of ascendance due to the elemental overload nerfs in PVE (that apply to pvp too) which is quite bad. Realistically damage should have been shifted from ascendance to outside of ascendance, maybe increasing flame shock dmg or increasing overload dmg outside of ascendance etc.
Stormbringer also got nerfed due to pve and all of those nerfs apply to pvp despite not actually being played in pvp at all which is pretty insane, so if ele wanted to swap to stormbringer potentially for Lightning bolt build its already really nerfed.
You’re probably right, because that seems to put them to a level that’s weaker in pvp prior to the patch, but it’s hard to tell, especially because there are so few Ele shaman mains on NA.
On an unrelated note, I really like what you’re trying to do with the mog with the light/void theme.
making it so that you couldn’t get ascendence procs from lava burst was one of the dumbest thing they did considering they already made it so that you can’t get lava surge as much as last xpac anymore
the spec actually does negative damage on the meters after tuesday it’s gonna be nonexistent lmao
Newsflash - Lava surge is fun…Hard casting lightning bolts and proccing overload spells, while rotating spell schools while you’re being kicked into the dirt is an outdated playstyle
