Can they just make LB/CL/LvB passively overload and give us a different mastery
got 455 Duelist Gloves tuesday with like 80 crit and ~200 mastery and its like why
Maybe allow mastery to increase earth quake/earth shock damage by a %?
Or give flameshock a chance to spread based off mastery?

I like the idea of ele mastery but the proc needs to either be full strength or occur more often due to lower DR or higher base mastery.

I get it mastery plateaus out Faster than other secondaries for us but definitely is a core of the spec. Remember what they did to us in WoD? I don’t want any of that crap back as my mastery, ele overload is fine as is.
its iconic yet but mechanically is so bad
Haste is better for maelstrom generation, crit is by far better for damage, it does absolutely nothing at % over 100 (save for chain lightning) and theres almost no talents that interact with it, Unlimited Power is such a joke and something like Surge of Power completely nullifies all your mastery

Back in Wod, they removed Elemental Overload due to Multistrike being added to the game which gave birth to Earthen Rage a very boring mastery that needed to scale to 400%+ just to be half decent

In Legion they brought it back and buffed our mastery gain. So it was possible to achieve Mastery Cap without sacrificing crit and haste to an extent.
unfortunately the elitist few complained about “Mastery being too easy to cap, so its useless” ended up getting it nerfed 
My sham went from 33-25-74-6 (Crit-Haste-Mastery-Versa) to the current BFA style 23-15-30-15 (Crit-Haste-Mastery-Versa)
The amount of potential they have with Elemental Overload just makes me sad that they’ve had sooo damn long and haven’t added more synergy into the spec and there are obvious inconsistencies within the spec itself, things that should obviously have bonus benefits from Overloading don’t. Ice Fury for example, gets its benefit from Frost Shocks, but when Ice Fury overloads you don’t gain anymore frost shock buffs, nothing happens just an extra 1k hit on a mob
Mastery at the beginning of BFA was fine and actually really really good due to RA bonus in Ulidir raid coupled with SE+HV+UP talents.
They buffed LB and CL significantly (15% I believe). This devalued Mastery considerably because of passive elemental fury which made Crit/vers more favorable. They also removed High Voltage and gave us SoP and IP which made any hope of a high mastery build completely unobtainable and also made UP a complete trash talent. This also sealed Ascendance’s fate as garbo as well.
If they would have left High Voltage in and made SoP a PVP talent then (IMO) high mastery builds would still be quite viable at this point, especially in M+.
Its actually bizarre; Blizz came out and claimed they were shifting dmg into LB and CL because they wanted us to be more of a lightning based caster but inadvertently made any hopes of being a lightning based casters unobtainable by adding in IP and removing HV.
It is moves like this that make you scratch your head. Just like the rationale for removing GoW.
Having a rough week with my shaman, just noticing things and getting frustrated
feels incomlete and I get so annoyed getting stuff like titan forged 455 rings with almost 300 mastery or 455 gloves with 160 of it
Idk if there’s a worse mastery in the game atm maybe main gauche?
Which is funny because its basically an overload for Outlaw rogues
