Elder Scrolls Online has 52 Veteran dungeons available for end game players

Yep, you read that right 52 veteran dungeons, with a lot of the DLC dungeons being pretty tough.

I don’t understand why WoW is limiting their end game to just 8 M+ dungeons each season and the rotating Timewalking dungeons?

This fixation on making dungeon running an esport is holding this game back so bad.

WoW has a wealth of old content that could be tapped into, but here we are grinding 8 dungeons per season.

ESO has a more horizontal progression than WoW does, which is more vertical.

While that may seem better, how many people are doing all 52 of those dungeons regularly?

More doesn’t always necessarily equal better. While it sounds nice to have 52 dungeons available to have at all times, it also spreads the available players for those dungeons thin. Player A wants to do dungeon 5, Player B wants to do dungeon 16, Player C wants to dungeon 43 but none of them are going to meet in the middle and do dungeon 8 together.

Food for thought: There is a concept called analysis or choice paralysis. People are actually happier choosing from less options because we tend to be loss averse, and more choices present more freedom but also the freedom to choose the “wrong” thing and potentially lose out.

Personally speaking I think rotating things in and out keeps things fresher.

They don’t. they pick a handful that are seen as “easier/rewarding” or “familiar” and do those. More stuff doesn’t mean better stuff just look at basically any game ever that has released with multiple levels, people congregate on just a few of them.

^ Facts. It is also proven in restaurants too. People prefer places with less options then a 10+ page book of menu items.

TBF This is also in large part due to the sheer inability to be able to delivery quality at such a volume. Simpler menu means more likely that they can actually create what’s on their well.

And yes, this metaphor applies, to a certain extent.

8 dungeons at Normal, Heroic and Mythic. Plus different Mythic dungeons. Timewalking Dungeons and Raids. Plus other stuff.

I get what you mean but there is plenty to do in WOW. The only people that think there isn’t are probably playing wayyy too much too often, or, they only participate with certain content.

$17.95😖

It’s $18 Bozos!

I don’t really wanna learn the mechanics of 52 dungeons. That sounds stupid.

If ESO jumped off a cliff, would you jump off a cliff too?

Now eat your veggies.

Know any good chicken places?

Huh? WoW has tons of dungeons that just go unused at the level cap. Complete waste if you ask me.

Nope, people run them all, the daily quests rotate through the dungeons.

Isn’t ESO first person based?

No first person is better than in WoW, but I still prefer 3rd person in ESO

This not sure why people are afraid of more. I enjoy the vast majority of dungeons in ESO and aside from the daily you also have events, queue for random and grinding for specific dungeons sets keeping them alive. I mean they are somewhat right, it wouldn’t work too well in wow because gear sets aren’t as important in wow and they’d even have to scale the dungeon gear. I definitely want it though.

IE, the same dungeons they always had except the bosses are now damage sponges. Let’s at least be honest.

Maybe it’s because I’m autistic but I prefer a bigger menu. They could always have a “preferred menu” with a handful of their best dishes. And he’ll they can even hand that out and only give the full menu if people ask.

Maybe they can do the same with wow, 8 preferred dungeons but open up the choices as people progress into heroic and mythic difficulty.

That’s not entirely a bad thing, most dungeon have mechanics that you don’t run into or notice because of easy difficulty, ultra forgive damage outputs, veteran forces you to interface with them. Also there are plenty of dungeons with extra mechanics and boss fights in veteran. I’m not much of a grind lover, I play veterans for a proper gameplay experience and unfortunately when you do more damage, you need a beefier target. Or at least someway to keep the fight going, lowering your health, making them invulnerable, etc.

Why you gotta call out Cheesecake Factory like that :flushed:
