Elden Ring Has Already Lost Half Concurrent Players

bumbling around exploring but achieving little to no progression is not my definition of fun. seems like the opposite of fun.

Here’s the thing - in the Souls-like games (and games with similar philosophy), actual experience and knowledge are infinitely more valuable than stronger weapons or more levels. Moreover, the actual gameplay is rewarding in and of itself. They don’t need to manipulate an incentivize when the mere act of playing is notably enjoyable (Sea of Thieves is also fantastic for this).

I saw that said maaaaaaybe once. Single player games do not hold an audience in the same way MMORPGs do and are not mutually exclusive when it comes to playing other games like people tend to treat different MMOs (mostly because of time investment involved).

I’d treat someone saying Elden Ring would make for a dead WoW population during a given patch the same as someone saying a new Minecraft update would kill WoW, and at least Minecraft is multiplayer and open-ended, but everyone would hear that claim and think its absurd.

imagine saying this when you play wow, the game where your progression literally gets reset every patch/expansion

This has to be bait.

You guys are so easily baited.

Does ER track achievements? Because a lot of Soul games usually have players that tap out before the first boss.

Bads see their favorite streamer playing it and want to try but then are reminded they are bad at video games and uninstall.

It never ceases to amaze and astound how often people will point to single-player games losing concurrent players as some sort of argument about them being “overhyped” months after they release.

It’s almost like pointing out that people are still commenting on the forums of MMORPG’s is somehow indicative of how healthy the population is, despite ignoring the fact that every failed and shuttered MMO had plenty of people still commenting on their forums up until they shut down.

who needs a death compilation when I can just watch DSP this is how you dont play for hours of comedy and a good ego boost.

Yea, I wonder how many people didn’t realize that you don’t have to kill the Tree Sentinel and you can just walk away and gear up then come back.

Eden Ring is a single player game that isn’t meant to compete with an MMO so I don’t know why people are pointing it out. You get your 60-70 hours of gameplay and then you’re done. I think on average most non-MMORPG games I play I do at most 40-60 hours before I stop playing. Probably 200 hours on an FPS game.

It’s different for a game say like BF2042 which is a fresh release that has less online players than BF5, BF1, and BF4. That means that there’s a serious rebuke against the game. Or New World which was the single biggest and fastest MMORPG flop in history.

Isn’t it another ‘ninja roll’ yourself to success?

I’ve gone past 60 hours playing the game. I’m new to the dark souls genre and it is taking a while for me to beat some of the bosses. It feels like single player raiding pretty much. Which is awesome.
