Either tone down Dazing or remove it

Quite honestly I have never seen a game crutch on an ancient method of drawing out gameplay so hard as much as wow. Every single hit from anywhere but the front dazes you.

How about go back to what you did and cherry pick good ideas from other games. Wow is the only game that seems to rely so heavily on dazing to draw out its gameplay because you can’t seem to come up with anything original and rather make a false difficulty.

This is not me running through a pack of mobs and being dazed off my horse for the millionth time. But more of the fact you have huge mob density to the point there is always something behind you and when you move they suddenly snap path behind you again so you have to spend your whole time backing up to attack them and then you back into another mob. It makes repositioning very annoying.

How about you make combat fun and remove dazing instead of a bore feast because every casual brush against your side and backside seems to cripple and make you an invalid. Stop trying to make every area a hazard and making people not wanna bother fighting anything in the first place. Also the loading screen about the roads being safe is an outright lie.

EDIT: Seeing as most of the responses didn’t bother to read my post. I’ll make it easier to understand.

Engaged in combat. Enemy keeps spawning behind me. NOT ABOUT MOUNTS.
Fighting Enemy. Enemy comes up behind. Daze. Move back to get them in front of me. They move behind me. Daze. Cripplingly move to get them in front. NOT ABOUT MOUNTS.

:boom: THIS IS NOT ABOUT MOUNTS :boom: THIS IS ABOUT DAZING IN COMBAT :boom:

Didnt they teach you on the boat to exiles reach to always face your opponent

It’s not. It’s simply part of the RPG element. No person should be able to run through a pack of bears without getting mauled, unless they’ve got something special on them to detract such an outcome. And guess what? You do. Get the mount equipment. Your problem is solved.

Tank specs do not get dazed.

Those using the comfortable barding from leatherworkers do not get dazed.

Please buy one off the AH.

Won’t help in combat but I see you latched onto the mount bit only.

I’ve been in this game for a very long time. I know to face my enemy. But that does nothing when the game spawns several of all over the place and one takes one huff on my back and makes me an invalid.

…except for the mobs they introduced in Shadowlands that don’t daze you, but instead, slow you and channel a high-damage spell on you even if you try to get away.

OP is right - WoW is the only MMO that so actively punishes players who try to simply run away from combat.

Yep, and the increasingly large number of enemies that conveniently have a “teleport behind you” ability. I avoid anything with Spriggans for this reason, because it gets beyond annoying.

I’ve never run into an issue with high damage spells. Keep moving.

Issue is not running away. Issue is spending all combat dazed cause they have to dump loads of enemies on you so something ends up behind you and when you try to move they reposition behind you.
Then after doing whatever kill quest they went you to do you have to RP walk out of the area cause you keep getting dazed.

Go ride through the elites on the way to the world boss in Ardenweald and see how you do. Hint: you will die, barding or no barding.

Yes, there’s a “long way around” to get there, and it’s irrelevant now we can “skip all the content” (lol) with flying, but it’s very much a real thing. Your mount would get slowed to crawl speed and damage would be channelled on you with no way to mitigate it.

Funny, because all night I have been saying out loud, “FFS, I wish I would get loot as often as I get dazed”

I was fascinated to learn yesterday in Un’goro Crater that I can run away from mobs in ghost wolf form as, yes, WoW has always had the game design that you need to take out everything in your way or they will come after you at top speed.

We are not called murder hobos for nothing!

I’ve never died. Maybe try not aggroing the entire zone? Because you can dodge some of those packs by not running straight through them.

I’m suddenly reminded of this when people complain about dazing issues:

And for the record, WoW is NOT the only game with daze in it. So let’s not try to use that as some excuse. People asked for danger in the world again, said they missed the elite areas like we had in Vanilla and were sad they were taken out. Now you know why they were removed: because people will constantly complain about dangers in the open world.

I didn’t have my glasses on and thought it said Danzig and I was just like, what?

Want to not get dazed? Spec Prot or use the mount equipment that nullifies Daze.

One of us. Or one of me at least.

I did the same thing and my brain got so confused that even when I did see the correct letters in the correct order I was pronouncing it the same, like a short a instead of a long a and was even more confused.

Citation needed on that one. I don’t recall anyone asking for the world to be made more annoying (which, let’s face it, is what “elite areas” are - which, by the way, Blizzard has been doing since Mists of Pandaria.)

I’m talking about mobs that are SPECIFICALLY designed to screw with players who have the anti-daze mount equipment (which of course is now mandatory for everyone, entirely removing the point of mount equipment).

Been on the forums for years, people missing how things were. It’s called “rose-colored glasses.”

And as you said, you can fly now. Of all the things wrong with this game, daze is not one that needs to be focused on.

The way to deal with dazing is just try not to rush through all your activities. I know it’s hard because so many alts, daily chores, OCD, and other things, but just slow down and it won’t annoy you. Trust me I know. lol
