I know there is an area in game that is based on egypt where you can get items that have an ancient egyptian aesthetic but what expansion do you go to with chromie to play in that area?
I take it you are referring to Uldum. That was a Cataclysm expansion zone and in Chromie Time it is for levels 30-50.

The two raids in Silithus; Temple of, and Ruins of, Ahn’Qiraj have an Egyptian theme, but I don’t recal Egyptian gear. Haven’t run them in a couple of years though.
Egyptian themed equipment, unfortunately, is in very short supply. There’s a set of cloth armor you can get Cataclysm that is sort of vaguely Egyptian, at least IMO, but you get the two colors of it from doing quests in Uldum and Twilight Highlands. Uldum has the Green version and Twilight has the Burgundy version IIRC.
Outside of that though, there’s nothing. The masks that the Tol’vir wear would be great transmog items, but they were never turned into drops.
