Egg-hunter or Nest-sitter?

Are you an egg-hunter (risking missing the boss while off flying around) or a nest-sitter (waiting for someone else to bring the egg at the risk that everyone else is doing the same thing while the egg just sits out there)?

There’s literally zero risk in being an egg hunter. The boss doesn’t die THAT quickly.

It did for me twice, once when I was still unsure at the time how far out the eggs could spawn and might have been searching a little too long before circling back and once when I mistakenly believed I had line of sight on all routes someone might be dragging one back. But I suppose those were really just day-one errors, not real risks once the search is optimized.

( Its just that seeing all the people sitting there got me thinking about hunting strategy theory stuff )

The egg only spawns in 2-3 spots.

Alliance, across the river near the boss. Just up a bit. And then by the tree near the stable on the farm. I think there is a 3rd, but dont know where.

Horde I think is similiar. Right across the stream from the boss. Then a short distance the other way.

I just take a 10 second flight around the area and plop back down at the boss. Then wait a min and do it again.

I was doing both (finally got the mount). Sometimes I’m out looking for the egg, other times I leave that to others to squeeze in some artwork time.

I am just the egg.

I circle around, and include the nest spot on my loop, so I don’t miss the boss. I almost always am the first person or three on the egg when it spawns.

The only time I almost missed it, I’m pretty sure I got phased into a new shard and the boss was at about 25% when I first saw it. There’s no way I missed that much of his health in the minimal time I was a ways off from the boss on my quick little loop.

At least I haven’t been phased away from the boss once I start to attack, which I’ve heard from others can happen.

Sitter for the two times I did the boss… Didn’t even know there was an egg to hunt.

I asked Horton, and he sat on it waiting for a response, that it hatched

I sat still in a spot where i could loot 4 egg spawn locations without moving and watched a few episodes of Lucifer, i could have maybe halved the time i had to put in to get to 250, but that would have meant lots of moving around

Depends on my mood … and how many attempts I’ve made in each sitting. This morning was 20 attempts in a row. By the last few I wasn’t even attempting to hunt.

But on average I’m a hunter. Sitting at the nest gets boring … unless people start breaking out toys

The egg hunters should tell us the egg is en route so we dont keep looking.

Egg Hunter. :egg:
If I find the egg I announce that I’m dragging the egg to the nest.
Although after today I have all the Spring Turquoise transmogs and the Noble Flying Carpet mount so I’m officially retired from Egg Hunter duties.

People better not be stealing my eggs.

Nest sitter because I’m lazy and haven’t been able to find that darn egg a single time. Sometimes he spawns without the egg but usually someone else always finds it.

nest sitter
my realm is so populated (esp ally-side) that we have a pretty large group hauling the egg on cue every time

and then i get to enjoy the freeze frame that is fighting the holiday rare

Neither, I’m a group-joiner. Or was, until the mount dropped for yesterday. I’m debating whether or not I try to get enough chocolates to buy the things I’m missing from the vendor.

And that isn’t what you truly desire.
