If it worked like that, I would never log out again.
We still have to pay for repairs. We don’t even get a discount from our own vendors.

They aren’t vying for business
They get nothing in return unless you tip the actual player.
And you have to understand most of the times, it’s someone doing their own business… either auction stuff, grabbing mail to repost etc…
They aren’t there for you unless they state it
I have a bruto and staying beside the mailbox is my second home in game hahaha… but if someone makes use of it, I don’t mind. It’s also cool getting thank yous from people.
Had one whisper me something like ‘‘on behalf of the wow community, we thank you’’ (having my bruto up near beginning of SL in oribos )
Players don’t get a cut of the gold that random passers-by get by vending on somebody’s mount. NPC’s don’t care which vendor you use.
The point in having a vendor mount is being able to repair anywhere you can mount up. And with the yak xmog anywhere and with the Burtosar access the Ah anywhere. That is about it. I think there are some useful items on the vendors as well like regents and basic food/water.
On retail my toons no longer even head to repair vendors and I almost forgot to get back into that habit because of having the yak for years and just mounting up when I need to repair.
I have the yak, the brutosaur, MOLL-E, and Katy Stampwhistle.
I can’t remember the last time I visited a city.
I ride a frog, his name is Herb and he’s a good boy!!
I always say thank you or bow, but won’t use them anymore. Thought I was helping out…
8 years and just found this out!
never thought to ask…just hated them sitting on mailboxes
I wouldn’t sweat it, it’s healthy to have a laugh at a goof you did. It’s worse if you take it negatively.
Trust me, that is obnoxious as hell.
Don’t get me started when they swarm npc’s and I’m there trying to feel out where the npc is to turn in something
Hey just thought of something. So when those things just pop up and hang out near a flight path with no mailboxes they’re just doing it to be nice. That part is kinda cool.
you realize those guys don’t get any gold if you use their vendors, right?
oh… sorry, did’nt see this. my bad.
It’s been mentioned several times… but thanks (and no worries - reading a whole thread isn’t a priority) Pretty much smiling at myself at this point. Wonder what else I’ve assumed all this time?
When MoP launched on my server there were about 50+ people stuck at the start of Stormsong Valley because someone on a Mammoth mount had gone AFK on Chen.
Oh gawd!!!
I like it when they use that thing that makes them gigantic while they sit on the mailbox, lol. A little added rudeness always brightens the day.
Intentions vary to be honest.
I’ve yet to see ‘majority’ of people be selfless and help.
It’ll just be a mount they have on keybind and afk, waiting on a queue to pop.
Also just a ‘‘hey let me get my bruto up to see something, sell something’’
Or get my repair mount yak to check out transmog etc [for those that don’t have bruto or not using it at that time].
You can always just go in with a touch of ignorance and assume they are doing it to help out if that is better for you.
True, but I did see the sweetest and damndest thing this morning.
The “Allying their Fears” quest in Bastion - for about 5 -10 minutes a bunch of strangers were down there and by tacit agreement (or whatever it was) the Horde took one side of the stream and the Alliance the other. We just played that way until we were mostly done and others came and it changed…but it was pretty darn sweet to see for those 8 minutes.
Yeah that sounds like a cool moment for sure!
Those are moments that make the game for me feel memorable. It’s why I don’t want to interject my cynicism and just keep some positivity for said person up. I’ve met my fair share in Azeroth that put me down and I don’t want to be like them.
I’m confused here. The rider of the mount does not get a cut of the gold you spend; they get none of it. They are likely close to the mailbox because they are using it.
I actually find dinos close to mailboxes to be extremely convenient, especially in cities like Oribos
Already acknowledged and explained a few times. The thread has been all over the place
Sorry, didn’t read it
