Edit mode is greyed out?

So how/when can I use it? Is it only at a certain level?

Like on the game menu? You should be able to use it whenever. I haven’t tried it on a lvl 1 though.

I had to do a total restart because edit mode kinda seized up on me. Try that. Just total close and reboot of wow

If you got addons. Shut them off. If they’re causing an issue then try turning one addon on at a time

I just created a new character and I also cannot click the edit mode to set up my UI. It works fine on all my other characters but not my new one. I’m guessing that you cannot use it until either out of the starting zone or maybe at some level. Guess I’ll find out as I level.

There is a script command that should pull up the editor. We had to use that in beta when ours was grayed out. Unfortunately, I have the script on my beta character only, and the beta servers are currently down, so I can’t grab it and post it here. Maybe someone else knows it though.

Oh, by the way, was able to get on beta. The script is:
/script ShowUIPanel(EditModeManagerFrame)

Was able to use edit mode as soon as I zoned onto the ship with Lady Jaina Proudmore with the quest “The Nation of Kul Taris” ready to turn in on my newly started character. That was with me going to the newer starter zone, haven’t tried the old start zone with a new character since they gave us the options.

Tried another character choosing old starter zone and could use edit mode right away. So seems it’s just with the newer starter zone it greys out.

I noticed that new characters have it grayed out until you finish the Isle of Exile, or whatever it’s called, including the Stormwind/Orgrimmar tour or choosing the option to skip the tour.

Thanks! I started a lvl 1 and it was greyed out. This script allowed me to pull up my preset. The edit mode was still greyed out afterwards, but then it didn’t matter. I had what I needed - my bars where they go.

:+1: :100: this needs to be fixed in the options. shouldn’t have to run a script until a certain level (or whatever the requirement is) to use a game feature.

I just created a brand new Gmone Mage. Level 1 in Gnomy.

Edit mode worked just fine.

my edit mode wont save my HUD edits. will not save them as an account save nor as an individual toon save. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it after a computer restart. It still doesnt work to save my edited settings.

Can’t use edit mode in Exile’s Reach, it’s dumb wish they change that.

The script works in Exile’s Reach ^

I wish I had seen this before, lol. I stopped reading after Airc’s script above and tested this out myself to come to the same conclusion. Could have just read your post and saved myself from hitting “esc” after every single quest to see if it made a difference, lol.

I’d think its your addon or something bugging up. It shouldn’t be grayed out.
