Edit Mode functionality is lacking

So when are we going to see more options in the Edit Mode?

Particularly, why can’t I drop a bar to only ONE icon? Having a limit of 6 is strange, and frankly mind boggling. The additional limit is that there’s no symmetry to the lower limit. We allow only 5 icons in a 2 column bar, but the minimum for a single column bar is 6?!

I can’t completely turn off my pet bar if I have a pet. While I count this as a bug but it’s likely intended. Same goes for stance bars for those that use them (war, paly, druid, rogue).

The cooldown and buff manager doesn’t allow us to flag the spells we want in the way we want them, we’re restricted to how they are defined in the manager.

I can’t be 100% sure (since I can’t get back on forever rn) but iirc we can’t move the target of target off of the target frame This is yet another limiting factor to how I want to build out my UI. Same goes for party and raid UI. The sizing limits are too narrow, even at their smallest.

Blizzard art bars in the Forever API is great (in that I can move them) but it would be nice to “easily” choose different art, or have a list of things I can add, like idk resized macro and ability icons. It would be cool to have some poisons or potions I can place in those areas when I’m on my rogue, or a sword on one side and shield on the other when I’m on my war.

It’s pretty ridiculous that we’ve had addons like bartender doing this for 20 years, and we have such limited functionality in the game’s own system. I really DO want to use the Blizz UI editor, but it really needs a lot of work. It’s been four years since it released during, what Dragon Flight?? Like let’s put a little more care into this please.

They still don’t have full button out of range coloring or the ability to remove macro and keybind text from buttons. We have to watch the tiny text for color changes on a poorly contrasted skill icon for range.

Give them time they are a small studio.

Theres an addon for that.

Yes, reading is hard.

Wow yeah I had no idea Bartender4 exists. Thanks man.

Now back to the OP so you can read it and understand we are talking about default Edit mode and base UI functionality, not addons. Give it a read.

They are still missing the ability to move specific event UI, from what I can tell. Things like loot rolls, achievement popups, the bag interface, and battleground scores are things I had to move using the MoveAny addon. If you move the interface in any way, there’s a chance that you’ll see an overlap of these UI elements and will require the assistance of an addon.

I centered my party UI to be where the loot roll UI is. It was terrible without an addon! People would loot something and I would need to fight the UI to heal somebody. Good thing I found that out in Beta, but it’s going to be terrible when people figure stuff out like that in Live.

sorely lacking, stuff like target cast bar, focus portrait(I think it was one) and other windows were only moveable after having claude make an addon for it.

I believe you can move the loot window in Advanced edit or am I thinking of Open Loot Window At Mouse in the interface settings? I just set mine to open at mouse since I look where the mouse needs to go so I’m automatically looking at the correct place on screen for the window to pop up.

As far as edit stuff goes, I don’t want to see the giant day/night icon on the minimap or the + -. I want to remove those things.

Stuff is close enough but I still have to use addons to clean it up more.

Also, target frame has offset power values, not centered or pushed to margins like health values if you show values on bars. Player frame is fine.

That’s the loot window. The loot roll window is what you get when you are in a party and a quality item drops.

That day/night icon I would love to move in the default UI! I had to get an addon for all of my addons, since the icons were taking up all of the minimap. That day/night icon is just one of many obstructions.

Oh duh I misread that. My bad dude. Yeah the roll window needs a mover. So do a lot of other windows. I downloaded a mover addon, too, in the beta lmao.

Also would be nice when moving elements those GIANT Edit windows hide when you drag so you can better see what you’re doing.

There’s a LOT that needs to be done for EDIT stuff. It’s a great start but falls short of the most needed features.
