We need an option that allows us to move any part of the house without losing all the decorations we’ve put in.
Currently, the 5th option (Edit Floorplan) does not allow moving certain parts of the house because there are other rooms between the one you want to move and the entrance.
I simply can’t do it for the reasons I explained.
The only way to edit the house’s interior plans is by removing absolutely all decorations, or by accepting that you can delete a room but its decorations will be returned to the decorations drawer. And this isn’t an option. Not in my case.
Many of us, myself included, have invested time and dedication in decorating, so we can’t accept that this is the only way. Well, at least for now.

That’s way up the list, for sure.
Just having some “hooks” around the edge of the layout editing screen where we could stick rooms while we shuffle them around would help a lot.
And being able to move the entrance like any other room, instead of it being a fixed anchor.

Being able to move the Entrance solves almost all of the general issues with regards to rearranging rooms inside the house and is the solution they should pursue.
I don’t think the placeholders you mention are necessarily needed, because you can just move rooms onto the edges of other rooms until you reach the room you’re intending to move. The Entrance being locked in place is what primarily limits this from being possible for every room. It’s actually wild it went live this way, because if you ever want to change the room type of the one immediately connected to the Entrance, you literally have to delete your entire house to do it.
The one downside of moving the room to another attachment point on the House itself is that sometimes you don’t have a place you can put it that won’t blow up what you have on one or more walls… if a new door opens up, it removes anything attached to the wall in that segment of wall.
I agree. We really need a way to place a room off to the side so we can move them around at will without deleting all of our decorations. I want to replace my front room but can’t because ALL the other rooms are attached to it.
