Ecological Succession - Worst Quest Chain?

Why does the entirety of this chain feel like it was AI written? Its a giant cluster of the “Do this 20 times” with very little depth to keep you interested. Not to mention the fact the targets are public, so you have to fight with every other player. PLUS some of the targets for the chain (like the bee’s) are microscopic so you are almost forced to play in first-person mode. Then the highlights to some of the quest targets blend into the surroundings. Other mobs are glitched and can’t be targeted.

It all just feels like a cluster of half-measures and no foresight.

Add your complaints about this quest chain here. Lets all vent about how our favorite games “Polish” has all but disappeared.

From what I can tell either the entire questline was not on the PTR and is thus untested until the live game, or any feedback regarding it was just ignored.

The original bee questline was broken for days, you pick up the quest and are instantly at 7/5 credit, and have to abandon the quest 3-4 times to get it to work properly.

Luckily you only have to do the questline once to unlock the repeatables/weeklies.

Get some Inky Black Potion, so you’re not blinded and the quest targets pop out. Anything to make things easier/more bearable lol :honeybee:

Absolutely agree! The chain is boring and uninteresting and feels like a chore, going through the motions. And EVERYTHING is harder to find in this game now.

My best guess is that this is some sort of internal protest about the lack of QA. Everything about this would’ve been stopped by any competent QA play testing. It’s boring, it’s long, it’s gated for no real reason, drop rates are low, respawn times are too long, the camera and the “shrink the goats” vehicle modes are clunky as hell, even the “pull the vines” quest has an absurdly long cast time on the vine. We’ve had all of these kinds of quests before and they’ve never chosen these awkward ways of doing these sorts of objectives. It’s so bad there’s no way it isn’t a meme.

At least, that’s what I’m telling myself. Maybe they’re testing the waters before going back to full Shadowlands Blizzard.

Im glad the feeling is mutual here. I was expecting the typical “Stop crying” responses, but at least the general consensus seems to align with mine.
