If you have to buy all of it, you’re thinking of an alt character you don’t play, but want geared.
For Mains? The currency is only useful for getting those corruptions that eluded you, or maybe an essence you got on an alt but not the main.
Buying with echoes supplements a bunch of systems. But the systems all still exist.
Quit for a year and yet I still had enough echoes in the last 1-3 months of returning to buy 10 masterfuls when it came out, I don’t really understand how people are lacking echoes, obviously I had accrued some before quitting or what ever or logging in for an hour every two weeks maybe at most to post auctions and do a few dailies then log off as I was working 60-70 hrs a week and didn’t feel like playing at the time. I could see if you do more than one activity it being a bit difficult to buy those specific corruptions you may want, me for example I made the choice to buy masterful corruptions as they’re great for st and aoe for raiding and m+, not too bad for pvp but they are one of the lower tier corruptions especially with people running massive vers %. I could agree with this if I cared for pvp in it’s terrible state that it is and has been but I get more joy from making gold off the ah, it’s not even a lack of effort or skill as I almost got glad in s1 in like 2-3 weeks of play, like everything else it’s just a time investment, one of which there is no reward for doing in my opinion. The mounts aren’t particularly great looking although I like proto drakes I still like them more without half of their model covered up with bad armor. But in the end it would just be a +1 to my collection never to be used over a mythic raid mount.
No loot, come back next week has been the literal definition of this game since vanilla. I farmed ToEP for a year, no luck. I still to this day, have never seen Cataclysm’s Edge drop. 80ish kills?
I am not saying corruption is perfect. They said it was an unpolished experiment. But to be fair, there are other, comparable options and for a returning player that has not played at all this tier, 30 days is not unreasonable.
it is when pvp seasons last x amount of specific time tho, there is more to the game than the specific way you play

30 days in a seasons that will last 10 months?
If you argument is that pvp does not reward enough gear, high enough quality gear or currencies, I agree. But compared to the HWL/ GM grind or BC gearing, 30 days for BiS corruptions is not unreasonable. Especially since every reset has something comparable.
BFA S1 - 20 weeks
BFA S2 - 22 weeks
BFA S3 - 27 weeks.

Which of those seasons had a corruption vendor?
I have quite a bit of echoes saved up (for severe rank 3) from doing what I like. You can get about 5.2k per week by doing the assaults (650+325+325=1300), an M+13 (195 echoes at the end of the dungeon and then 1300 in the weekly cache), a full raid clear (about 1200), and two full visions (650+650=1300).
The current season is in week 23 btw. You’re missing the point purposefully while still being wrong.

That is my point. We are 23 weeks in. I have played every week, both PvE and PvP. 30 days or less is not an unreasonable amount of time for an alt, or new player to reach the same character progression I have.
I understand you want MoP/ WoD. It was a great time to be alive for a pvp only player that enjoys alts. People are playing classic. Where it would take him months to hit HWL. There has to be a balance.
If my alt is doing harder content than your main, my alt should be caught up to your main much quicker than 30 days.
If you believe otherwise, that is okay.

Its not lazy the repeatable content isn’t that fun. In Legion getting Legendaries was a fun thing toward the end I didn’t mind doing over and over. This system is just plain boring.
I understand the basics fine. You believe MoP/ WoD is the better system. It, same as now, had positives and negatives too. Not everyone will agree regardless.
Vanilla/BC were vastly more popular that WoD or BFA and rewarded time investment heavily. Your alt would be significantly farther behind my main then, than it would be now.
What, you don’t like playing 1500 games and have multiple gear sets to put corruptions on to actually utilize the new patch’s system?
