Ebon Rifts (RP Sign-ups/OOC)

Hello and welcome too this sign up for Ebon Rifts.

The short version of what may happen, is that there are tears through time, that either spew forth things from a alternate timeline or let other pass into it, due to the rise in azerite and heavy use of time magic that these tears are able to open.

what lies on the other side?

Sign-ups include.

Name:
Race:
brief Description:
Brief Bio:

And for optional.
Alternate version:

This is a faction neutral one so a single version of how your character would find out is below.

A piece of paper with a wax stamp indicating who it is from hangs on a notice board,
“The Bronze Dragon flight is asking for aid of mortal races in western plague lands, We Experienced temporal time rifts have opened there, We have tried to seal these rifts, but it seems the local creatures, such as the undead, still roam the town, more rampant than ever, we have asked the ebon blade and the silver hand especially, however with the war going on between both horde and alliance there support is thinned.”

“To compensate your time on this matter, we have obtained means of reward your efforts, merely find us outside near the city in western plague lands, we will be expecting you and be ready to explain more of this serious issue.”

Oh boy, I’ve been stoked waiting for this! It’s not every day I get to toy around with an alternate character version and the what-ifs that go with it!

Name: Morician Blackborne
Race: Human
Brief Description: Here, he is in his early thirties, standing right at six feet tall and well-muscled from years of military service. His dark blond hair is peppered with flecks of premature silver, and his left eye has been long blinded by some clawed beasty–the scars still quite apparent.

Brief Bio: Once a noble paladin of the Argent Crusade, Morician nearly met his end fighting the Scourge in the Plaguelands, only being spared by a Scarlet patrol that happened along at the time. Grateful for the intervention and intent on ridding the world of the growing undead menace, he swore himself to Scarlets’ service, working his way up the ranks and eventually acquiring a command of his own.

Events of late, however, have torn his world apart, causing him to reevaluate his ideals and consider new alliances in a bid to stop the undead. It remains to be seen whether the endeavor proves successful.

Edit: it’s a bit of an unorthodox sign-up, but seemed a fun premise and can be tweaked as needed

Name: John Graume
Race: Human
Brief Description: John Graume is a middle-aged man, and a former member of the Cult of the Damned. He has pale, wrinkled skin, and hair as white as pure snow. He bears only one scar, hidden by his beard, from falling onto the edge of a table after tripping on an oversized robe.

Brief Bio: John Graume started life the son of a farmer. Life was made hard by the greedy tax collectors of Lordaeron City, but that was not what ultimately drove the young man into the arms of a cult. Instead, he was growing increasingly dismayed by watching family after family separated by death, and one day, a recruiter of the Cult of the Damned capitalized on that, telling John there was a way to reunite them.

Several years later, John was slipping through the woods, clad in necromancer’s garb, trying to slip past the Thoradin Wall, to the Southern Alliance. It took him the better part of a year just convincing them he had no loyalties to the Scourge, and even longer to acquire his sanction, allowing him to use his power for the good of the Alliance, but he succeeded, vowing to himself to never again fall sway to the honeyed words of cultists.

Alternate Version: In another timeline, John Graume never found his opening to escape, so he remained within the Cult. After champions and adventurers both made many attempts on his life, and his crafty mind delivered him from death time after time, he was eventually selected for Lichdom. A prospect that both frightened and excited him, frightened, for it meant he would be slaved to the will of a monster, excited, for it would mean eternity, free from his fear of death…

The newborn lich would take the name “Naze,” and in the face of his continued propensity for slipping away from would-be heroes just before the deathstroke, he would be further named “Naze the Eternal.” But every day, he longed for the moment when his will would be his own… the moment when he could build a kingdom of undeath, not as tyranny, but as a second chance, for some compassion yet survived the cold grip upon his heart…

As a reminder, you dont have to start out with the alternate version just yet.

focus on that alternate self when ya see em.

Name: Kersia - Kersiagosa

Race: Pandaren - Blue Dragon

Brief Description: Exactly like armory only a faint glow to her arcane blue eyes and instead of a staff she has various journals and grimoires on her waist. She also occasionally wears circle spectacles. Dragon form is long and lithe with pale blue-grey horns and spikes, arcane rune cloth around her horns, chest, and as a bow on the base of her tail, blue scale and a pale blue belly.

Brief Bio: Borderline lost herself following Malygos, it took the death of her sister Tianagosa to snap her out of it. Now she lives as her sister would have wished, amongst the mortals. Except Kersia is an inquisitive sort and often experiments on, observes, and studies them rather than making friends with them, though she still has made several friends and allies.

Alternate version: Alternate Kersia is from a land where Malygos is winning his war. Tianagosa was killed back in the sundering of Azeroth and her death further fueled Kersia’s dislike and eventual hatred towards mortals. She is wary and seclusive, prefering to study from a distance and set up experiments from the shadows. To her, mortals are merely tool for study.

Bronze Dragons?? This sound like Doseki’s type of RP.

Name: Doseki Wildhammer
Race: Wildhammer Dwarf / Elemental Ascendant.
Brief Description: Doseki is a wildhammer shaman whom through the last 500 or so years has reconnected with his Earthen heritage becoming a elemental ascendant and become a balance of the four main elements of Earth, Fire, Water, and Air. This balance of the elements gives him a normal appearance from a distance however on closer inspection one could see each of the four in effect on his body.

Doseki looks very much like his Armory wearing a wolf themed cowl over his face hiding his solid white eyes that crackle with bursts of lighting. This lightning also travels over the entirety of his body. His flesh can be hard as stone but is softened due to the water element giving a flesh-like appearance. His body heated by an internal fire.

Doseki Wildhammer currently wears a red robe and wields the elements as his weapon. He also carries on his person a double-headed axe (Not displayed) that acts almost as a singular totem to help channel his elemental power. This axe is believed to be forged within the Elemental plans using each of the four main elements in his construction becoming a symbol of the balance the Azerothian Elemental spirits could attain.

Brief Bio: Doseki started life out before the War of Three Hammers being a simple Warrior when the three main clans went to war with each other. It was after the war and the founding of Aerie Peak that his path changed to that of the Shaman. Having vanished for several hundred years thought dead shortly after the war until the Cataclysm brought rumors of his survival. The Patriarch of the clan that bears his name, Doseki of the Wildhammer had become one with the elements as well as a Bronze Watcher making him effectively immortal with but one goal–To bring balance to Azeroth and purge the fel corruption and the demons from her and the universe.

Alternate version: Unknown at this time.

How’s this for a sign up?

I love it.

So how many more do we need? If it’s just more bodies I can try to dredge up another toon if required.

i’d probably 1 or 2 more at least, but i can start it up if you guys want

never really knew what the basic number i should start stuff out like this with.

This is a neutral thread right? There seems to be a lack of Horde in the sign-ups. Maybe I should bring one of mine along?

as a side note I just noticed Hawkens that your guild name is the same as my cabin at summer camp one year. Was it '97 or '98? “BOV Have no Fear!” was our motto. Brothers of Valor!! Ah that brings back memories.

ya its neutral.
you can bring a horde or alliance if you want

I can think of a few different timelines for my Albino. One where he is happy with his lifemate, started a family and remained in Mulgore. Then there is the one where he becomes the new Lich King after killing Arthas… Could be others as well.

Tempted to bring in an AU Astaulan that succeeded in becoming Sun Emperor, and now rules his Azeroth with an iron fist and elves reign supreme (not just High/Blood Elves, but Night Elves too).

Naturally he’d be an antagonist to the party.

Wouldn’t last long if he popped up on the other side of the rift. :stuck_out_tongue:

Another friendly bump.

((Mori alt here, offering up another body for the headcount))

Name: Mirmulnir
Race: Worgen
Brief Description: A large, grizzled worgen male with amber eyes and a gruff disposition. Half of his right ear is missing, and his heavy plate armor bears the scars of much use. Curiously, some pieces seem to be reinforced with scales, teeth, or claws taken from the protodrakes of Northrend.

His accent seems to fluctuate between Gilnean and Kul’tiran.

Brief Bio: Not much was left of his memory after his turning, leaving this worgen to forge a new life for himself after regaining his sanity. He quickly found his purpose hunting big game, coming to favor the protodrakes of Northrend as his prey and thus earning his new name after slaying a favored drake-mount of a local vrykul warlord.

Mercenary work supplies his expensive(and dangerous!) hobby, and the potential opportunity to kill a dragon(living or otherwise) along with the undead is too good to pass up.

Alternate Version: Mirmulnir never regained his sanity, doomed instead to forever roam as a feral menace.
