"Easy Raid's" Mindset in SoD

I’ve seen a few posts about how people don’t want easy raids in SOD and that’s not the reason why people are playing it.

Which, I do agree. Plenty of people don’t necessarily want easy raids. However, as the devs stated, easyish raids are best for this “VERSION” of classic. You have to remember, this is a seasonal thing. Meaning, it will eventually come to an end after about 1 single year. This isn’t a permanent server where progression is key because the content will be available for the next 6+ months for people to strive and push their way through.

In this version, content is “current” for 2-3 months (as we have seen). This isn’t enough time for progression mindset to be a thing in SoD. Especially, with the lockout system now even further restraining this time frame and amount of attempts you can do before the next phase.

So, if after SoD, and they release Classic+ then I feel like it would be okay to have harder, progression raids where it takes time to clear them. However, this does not belong is any seasonal style content.

There’s a difference between easy and “The boss died in under a minute and didn’t get chance to really do anything.” We’ve swung too far towards the latter, especially given it was the first reset of the phase and people were only going to get stronger from there.

Its the vocal minority who for some reason expect retail raids. Theyll get bored after 5 lockouts but still demand every raid caters to them.

Id rather a bunch of potatoes and noobs can do a raid, people can sweat all they want in retail.

how about more content and raids with some challenging mechanics instead of just the one per phase?

If you have not done ST yet and you read the forums over the last week, you would think that ST has been nerfed to where all the fights are tank & spanks 90+% success rate for dad pugs. However, that is not the case.

a knock back mechanic, run into clouds, kill some adds…not exactly challenging or over the top challenging…

You’re right to some extent. The raids shouldn’t be super difficult. They should lean on the more forgiving side.

Lean on the forgiving side doesn’t mean “an absolute joke”.

This is some bizzaro excuse you tell yourself because you just want faceroll loot.

I haven’t played retail in over a year and I don’t want to play it. I don’t want to raid mythic. I just don’t want faceroll content.

ill say what i said in another thread:

how do people not understand that 95% of retail is trash so the trade off is not worth it. basically your saying, if someone really loves the core of a game but it doesnt have a certain feature they want, that they should quit the game entirely and go find a game that has that feature but is terrible in many many other ways. how does that make sense.

and hate to break it to you buddy but there are alot more casuals complaining about stuff than us sweats. all u need to do is go to sod main forum page and scroll down XD

Project Ascension…

Sunken Temple isnt THAT faceroll.

And if you think it is to the point of boredom.

Then go play retail ?? You obviously wants something harder then what we want in SOD lol

Play retail if you want to wipe 800 times before killing a boss. Face roll bosses is good for the game

No one expects Retail Raids. But people who think fights should last 30 seconds are capping.

ST is in a pretty good spot. Took a bunch of potatoes almost two hours to kill post-post-nerf Eranikus. That’s probably a nice spot to be in. Better guilds kill him in 3-5 pulls. I think that’s probably fine.

Honestly my only gripe would be that Hakkar is too easy. I hate that 2 of the 3 raids have had a harder penultimate boss than final boss.

BFD had a couple absolute joke fights. Gnomer had maybe one, ST doesn’t seem to have any, and they both have execcessive amounts of trash. ST in particular could use about half its trash removed, especially since the fights all tend to be on the long side.

This.

Joined discord for a guild run and half the people are complaining they nerfed the bosses too much, it’s brain dead easy, and they’re catering to the casuals. Proceed to go 6/8 over 3 hours. Come back in a 2nd night to clean up last 2 bosses and spend 3 more hours only downing eranikus. Never killed hakar.

Alt run for a different guild, chat filled with “can’t believe they nerfed the bosses into the ground”. Proceeds to go 5/8.

Anyone complaining the raid is too easy now should link their 8/8 logs without a single wipe.

ST feels harder than ZG or AQ20 did at release.

Most of the people in Classic haven’t played retail in over a decade. They don’t even know what they don’t like about it.
