Easy mode paladin tank rotation?

  1. Shield of Righteousness
  2. Macro:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=7 Holy Shield, Judgement of Wisdom, Consecration

  1. Hammer of the Righteous

  2. Same Macro:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=7 Holy Shield, Judgement of Wisdom, Consecration

This make sense? I realize sometimes you’d have to switch to a different Judgement, and now that my paladin tank is doing harder content and has more mitigation, it’s easier to get mana back, so maybe I should go with Light.

It’s set up to press 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1…but you could also go 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2…

Anyway, g2g work, tell me if this is noob.

edit: yes i know to keep plea up btw

You can already in theory put the entire pally tank rotation into a single macro. But, it makes you inflexible. Pallytank is already the second easiest tank in terms of keybinds.

One macro I DO use is:
/castsequence Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of Righteousness

Then I manually hit my 9s ability like Consecreate, Holy Shield, Judgement, and alternate by hitting the macro. Saves me one keybinding. Been using it since like day 1 of WOTLk and I honestly forgot that Shield and Hammer are two different abilities.

tanking does not use rotations. it is a mainly reactionary role.

Why not just actually play the game?

I get that question a lot and I’m happy to answer it for you.

The Prot Paladin rotation is so scripted a /castsequence macro will literally do a better job than 90% of Classic players.

This gives the player headspace to think about all the other great buttons a Paladin has, CD usage, and boss timers for raids. If you can’t mess up your basic rotation, you can focus on other items at hand.

It’s just really tough to argue with perfection and why you wouldn’t use it. It may not be for you, but this will help many. I won’t ask you to post logs because that could lead to e-shaming.

Check your CPM and Holy Shield uptime. If it’s not what you’re expectind: Use Ctrl+C, /m (in game) and Ctrl+V.

I like it! Much more streamlined than mine, plus it frees up a couple buttons.

Whether it’s ideal or not, it would help a lot of players who are struggling and don’t want to be kicked, which seems to be a hot topic.
