East coast to west coast

I am from the East coast, but I am looking to make an alliance character on Proudmoore which is PST. Will the latency be a huge issue or impact gameplay in PvP/PvE noticeably?

I play on WRA frequently from NY. The main problem is mail claim slower. Combat latency is negligible.

Im in Va, as east cost as you can get. Didnt notice the latency while one Tich and proudmoore

Shouldn’t be noticeable, I have basically the same latency regardless of what US server I am on.

I’m east coast and have a toon on a west coast realm. My ping is normally in the mid 20’s on my CST server and maybe is 40’s to 50’s on PST. It isn’t noticeable really. You only really start even noticing issues caused by latency when it is > 100 or so and it starts being a problem at the 200+ mark.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I created a toon to see what my ping would be like, and I was sitting around 100 consistently.

100 aint bad and you’ll probably never notice any issues.

For fun, I logged onto my EU account the other day (and spent like 350k gold on a WoW token. Yikes. Not like I’m using that Gold anymore anyway though) and I was sitting at 150 MS.

Maybe once every 5 minutes I felt like mounting up or something had not even half a second of delay to it. If I couldn’t play on my NA account for whatever reason, I could live with 150MS.

I’m east coast but play on a west coast server it’s never been an issue. I don’t think I’ve ever played on an east coast server lol.

I don’t even know what classification the servers I play on are. Could be East, could be West… could be the Moon for all I know. Is it listed somewhere what server is what?

Lol you’re on Hyjal like me. It should say the realm time versus local time on the minimap.

As far as a list? I don’t know if any you’d have to log in to each one manually.

That right now is on you and how good your setup and connection is. Back when WoW first came out, where you were from and where you were playing could effect how bad you did or didnt lag. But now with how much things have been upgraded and modernized it really doesn’t matter any more.
