Easiest Way to get a PVP Elite Set?

I’m specifically after the priest PVP set because it looks amazing. I’ve mostly done casual PVP, so I have some questions on how to get this set I want.

Does faction matter? Last time I PVP’ed it seemed Alliance dominated in randoms so idk if that matters.

What spec should I play on my priest?

Which gamemode should I play to gear? And which one for rated?

Any tips welcome, thanks :sunglasses:

Well first of all if it’s the elite set than you ain’t gonna get it doing random battlegrounds.

That’s a 2500 arena rating set last I remember… So gotta get a pvp buddy or buy a full on carry and grind 2v2 3v3 5v5 arenas.

I tried doing that back in mop for a monk set…needless to say I never got that rating because unless you’re good at pvp and well coordinated with some meta players it’s likely as a casual player you’re gonna be chewed up and spit out.

You’ll also need pvp gear to do well in it which is another thing to invest time towards.

Best of luck!

The elite set pieces are unlocked intermittently at various rank milestones. The full set unlocks at 1800. You can achieve this through solo shuffle or the various arena formats.

I don’t pvp, so I can’t say what’s easiest. I’ve heard solo shuffle is the best way to go.

How much gold do you have?

Easiest way is to get to 1600 on a priest. You’ll get all but 2 of the Elite pieces unlocked. You’ll also get a mark from getting the Season 3 achievement (you can get that with either a 1600 rating, KSM, or H Amir clear) to buy one of the remaining two pieces with.

Then get that Season 3 achievement on a priest alt however you want to earn a second mark and buy the remaining missing Elite piece.

There is no need to get to 1800 anymore.

You get the elite armor set at 1800 my experience is its pretty easy to get with solo shuffle

You are going to want to buy a carry. Conversely, role disc priest and grind 2s, I think this season will be long, and players fall off toward the end of the season so you should be able to achieve 1800 rating to unlock the set.

Here’s the mark I’m referring to btw.

1600 alone gets you all but the head and shoulder piece. Use the mark you earn at 1600 to buy the Elite head or shoulder, then use the second mark you earn on a same-class alt (easiest is buy a H Amir clear) to buy the other piece.

Is 1800 really difficult? Seems like it could possibly more difficult/time consuming to get another priest geared up but if 1800 is hard then I understand.

It is if they still take rating away per losses.

A bad loosing streak can set you back to square one…

1800 can be a pain if you pick “the wrong” spec, or if you’re a solo person, solo shuffle can be a pain because of bad groups/placement matches/people who throw matches/45 minute queues. It can get frustrating to say the least.

Level 2 priests.

Get 1600 in rated to get everything but helm and shoulders but buy helm or shoulders with mastery token

Use 2nd priest to get ksm and get a mastery token to buy the remaining piece to complete the set

Or get 1800 in 2s late season when inflation hits.

Disc is one of the best healers for pvp so is easier then other classes to go into pvp

I think making two viable priests would be more work than just trying for 1800 on one xD

Man healing pvp is serious aids sometimes.

With crap mmr inflation right now rank 1 blizzcon champs are floating around lower ranks so if they are at 2200 you could be fighting ppl who get glad that are 1800

Casual ppl will be eaten alive

Vs ksm which first as heals is an insta inv. And second you get rating for non timed keys even lol. Ksm is a super joke you can get in 2 weeks running 16 total keys and not even all 15s. Plus you get a mount in ksm plus can work on pve set colors to

Not really. Just gotta find someone to play with and work together as a team. 1800’s not too difficult.

It’s one reason why I lost interest rates n pvp back in the end of BFA haven’t even entered a BG since.

It’s too much of a pain and ksm is too easy or at least compared in difficulty they need to make them meet in a middle ground. Though pvp has always had the issue of if you’re not in it from the start you’re going to be extra behind and it makes it so unfun.

Pvp gearing has largely been solved this xpac. Honor gear is decent and conq cap throttles gear disparity at the start to start.

Its mmr inflation theyve borked multiple times. And balance changes.

That stuff wouldnt matter if rewards got a new coat of paint and this thread proves that.

The elite sets should not be time sensitive. Plenty of pvp rewards are. this should not as why would i be thrilled to earn half a set forever if i dont hit 1800. Rather, maybe, give incentive for ppl to play the mode to earn the set and maybe earn prior sets.

But pvp try hards would rather see the mode die then evolve i guess.

Good news rated solo q rated BGs are otw which will kill rss and probably make elite sets easier to get.

If you are arena-phobic like I am, you can do what I did:

Get a total of 3, 4 or even 5 of your favorite class to 70, and go for 2k IO.

If you happen to have a guild or friend in a guild that does a heroic alt run, you do that. Most guild alt runs want you to be at least 455, so you will need to run a few keys and craft some gear.

Assuming you aren’t in a big rush to get your transmog, you can take your time getting each toon to 2k or towards that heroic alt clear, if you know a guild/friends.

It took me two weeks per druid (I had 2 alt druids) to finish getting the pieces of elite gear I wanted.

The downside to getting the elite gear this way is you will not be able to get non-tier set pieces this way, such as the cape, belt, etc.
