All 3 specs seem good. Which has the best balance of brain dead easy and super OP? Asking for a friend
With the games I played last night, seems like Assassin. Spread dots. Top meters.
I did the new zone intro quests as AssAss and it seemed to pump and was super easy with aoe bleeds
Yea, the few I ran into last night were playing like a feral with better CC. >.<
With aff buffs, holy priest and hunter FD nerfs, assas aff is going to crank in 3s
What about for YOLORSSRBGSBGBSBLITZ
Check out this assassination build:
Insane bleed damage all of the time. Microburst every shiv. Huge burst every CB KB, deathmark, and every shadow dance. Youll sometimes want to drop sanguine blades though, as it will pull you out of stealth since it keeps sending damage while your bleeds are on target and you can’t turn it off. But you effectively have three distinct goes: CB kingsbane, deathmark, and shadow dance. Dance is actually super potent as assassination with this build because of all the ambush modifiers and master assassin. Sudden demise is also still pretty ridiculous because it procs by itself off global from any distance and the amount of bleeds you need to proc it is not really that significant. It’s gonna be really hard to defend against in dampening with dots/bleeds on multiple targets.
Sub is better right now imo just because of rotten goremaw and general tuning on everything else. Once that gets nerfed though, I think assassination is just as good or better.
Feign hasn’t removed bleeds since craven
You’ll want Caranage with a dance build, Dance allows for bleeds to spread with IC. Probably better than Sudden Demise. For now if worried about stealth breaks from Sanguine probably best to drop it and use Carnage as well if you wanted to keep Sudden Demise in the build.
One thing to keep in mind is how much damage ambush does in dance. I wasn’t really prioritizing the use of dance to spread bleeds on the PTR. Carnage is sometimes worth it when you know that there will be a lot of stacked targets, but IMO you want to be spending as many dance globals as possible on the big ambushes. Keeping rupture/IB/garrote on two things without carnage is not overly restrictive. There are multiple places where you can shift talents around to play with it though. You’re not wrong.
I get what you’re saying but having bleeds up on 2-3 things from using the reg rotation (using garrote is a priority for assassination, stop casts/defensives etc) makes a huge difference for energy as opposed to having them on 1-2 targets. That’d be really important if you wanted to use Sanguine.
I have to test it more but using garrote in dance would be priority if the silence/DR applied to everything hit by garrote in Dance with IC. You’re only using one global on it as well so not very impactful if we’re talking about losing one Ambush. I may have great RNG but I always get Blindside procs so to me the trade of garrote for one ambush seems like a good one.
Yeah always garrote first, I assumed that was a given. In situations where you know you’re always going to get multi garrotes, IC is really good. You’re probably also going to use cheap shot at least once every dance. Ambush in dance is different from blindside procced ambushes because of the master assassin talent.
IMO, you don’t want to use dance to apply bleeds, you want them already on your targets when you go into dance so that they’re ticking away with the master assassin buff while you’re spending globals on other things, like IW garrote, cheap, and ambushes. The combined damage of ambush and its nature proc with the crit modifier is pretty insane if you can get 2-3 of them off in a dance with bleeds already on something.
Yeah agreed there. Prep the target with bleeds first, then dance.
Just play like its a jank old version of subtlety imo.
Ok biebs today on assassination, mind you I’m terrible u can look me up to prove it. I 2v3 and won in a skirm today me and holy priest V.S. lock balance and hpal. I got 4 kills because the boomy escaped and got the rez while I got the hpal. Give it a shot you might like it.
Looking like the silence/DR from Garrote are spread by IC. I wonder if that’s intended.
Played with the build a bit, juicy ambushes but not anything crazy. Kingsbane with Zold @60%+ mastery is wild though, got a 385k tick on Bane.
I’d be impressed if we were in s1
All other classes have been hitting this hard for months now
Whole duration was nearly a million damage, that 385k was one tick of Bane. Nothing else was hitting that hard in S2 on one global brother.
You guys should have seen how sudden demise worked before the last ptr hotfix. It would actually loop on refresh if you didn’t kill the target when it procced. Picture something hitting 10% inside of hunter feign wall or dispersion. It would tick for 90% of its value 60-120 times over the course of a second and just kill whatever through its wall. They put a 10 second throttle on the effect per target in lieu of that.
Imo sudden demise is still extremely strong, even with the throttling. Your bleeds are long enough duration that the potential damage stored does not take a lot of effort to guarantee procs. It’s also passive and procs off global with no range restriction.
Saw that, really funny looking at all the instances of it going off in the same second. Reminded me of the Seal of Vengeance bug in Cata where it was just chain bouncing forever and stacking chain bounces.
Dots, not bleeds
