So let’s say you had a friend who was really bad at the game and you had to recommend them a class to play in arena that they could succeed on despite being mechanically challenged as a player.
Im thinking Warrior or DK. Thoughts?
Maybe Spriest or Bm hunter?

I would not recommend sp to a new player personally as it is one of if not the hardest specs to play in arena

I think most people would agree that it’s Shadow Priest, but Disc in Blitz is also a contender.

I think recommending SP to a new player would be equivalent to giving a janitor CEO duties at a big company. Typically they should spend some time mopping floors / cleaning toilets (Warrior/DK) instead of giving them the most important role with the most responsibility(SP, for example)
Disc, Fury, Havoc, or Ret probably.

SP doesn’t have to worry about being punished for misuse of mobility cooldowns or feeding an enemy precog. The spec is just designed to exist entirely outside of these mechanics. Also a major life saving defensive that can be used while stunned.

Shadow Priest has to manipulate positioning to their advantage rather than just pressing W and spamming mobility buttons. It also has to hard cast (interruptable) it’s auto attacks (dispellable.) One wrong move and you’re kicked on shadow school and it’s lights out. You have to be cool and calm under pressure and execute your mechanics perfectly or it’s gg.

Get precog and it’s basically free after you learn to juke.
Kicked on shadow? Spam flash heal as most dps ignore it
Void crash enemy player > dark ascension > torrent > DP spam.
Most lobbies for the new player won’t know how to counter this making it insanely free to climb with if the goal is fast 1800

The only thing I’ll say against this is with a healer FC meta, carrying a flag as Priest is not a lot of fun, even if you are tanky.
Hard? No. But you also need to like the game you’re playing, and I find CTF maps annoying because of it.

Probably spriest, i one time fought an spriest who was qing with an enhance shaman in 3v3 and they were more threatening to my team than i’d like, and that can only be attributed to how broken the spec is.

Shadow priest hasn’t been as hard to play since they made MD 2 minutes. They made power word shield barely noticeable. You used to have to decide if you want to power word shield your team all game or save the mana for MD against rmp etc.
You can just spam heals and purge most games without having to worry about mana. With MD being two minutes, the difference between a good shadow priest and bad one got closer.
I play both Spriest and UH DK and can without a doubt say DK is harder at the moment. Maybe it’s just a tuning issue but, Spriest really isn’t some genius IQ class anymore. It’s easier than it’s ever been.
