I’m at a certain point in my life where I don’t want to devote every M-W-F evenings to WoW (or whatever the raid schedule is, it doesn’t matter). Maybe some weeks I do but others I don’t. So for me pugging is very important and with that being said what class is most in demand?
edit: I should say I am Horde. A few people are bringing up groups needing Locks and I think Locks are way more populator on Horde
Priest, every raid could use more heals, priests are very good heals, healers get groups.

My guild raids once a week it’s not that bad:).
But prot warrior or Hpriest and GG.
is any healer good? I have a lvl30 Druid on a server
Depends on the server.
Most of the mages petered out on mine so our 2nd raid team has a hard time filling mages for DPS. We always have enough healers. Warlocks are useful for banish in MC but you don’t need more than like 4 of them.
If you want to heal, I would roll druid. Not much loot competition right now, most raids only bring 1-3 of them usually.

For the most part yes! Druids lack rez (only have Brez). Priest and Hpally are the safest bet.
Druids have mark and innervate, most raid groups have more priests than druids on heals, so if you want the best odds, priest is a good default.
If you prefer druid play that, or sham / paladin, groups always need healers, and unless they are going for a really strong group comp, they will take anyone who can cast a heal.

Big tru. I did MC pugs with level 57 pallys lol!
Healer yeah- but I’m pretty sure most guilds will already have a tank- similarly, I think most well geared tanks will be in guilds and not pugging.
The one thing I see very few of in most raids is druids and hunters- they offer a bit of utility, but otherwise their damage/healing is lackluster.
Priest, pally, mage, lock, dps warrior, rogue would be your best choice.

Haha yeah. Honestly there’s so many pugs going on a prot pally could even get a spot as a OT.
I feel like Holy pallys are usually the highest in demand, if you choose Alliance that is. They aren’t as common as priests and raids love their buffs.

Shamans have a easier time than Priests do. You need about 3 priests on the horde side to cover dispels then you want to stack Shaman for their crazy totems. DPS it seems like rogues are pretty rare surprisingly, so they get some spots easier than other classes.
I personally see Healers and Locks/Hunters most needed. Warriors, Rogues and Mages make up most of the DPS population and DPS is the most needed class in 40 mans. In fact I see LFM Ranged DPS (Hunters/Warlocks) very, very often on my server for MC pubs.
i would agree, its shaman then priest but paladin is a close third.
for pure dps classes: mages >= locks > warriors > hunters > rogues. just my experience
Sort of understandable that Alliance would have a shortage of Locks but I’m surprised groups needing Hunters
From what I’ve seen, paladins and shamans.
So was I. Everyone seemed to roll Mages and Warriors this time around with Rogues in third. Hunters are actually tied or below Warlocks in most census datas so I would imagine thats why. This is probably because the stigma around Hunters being Huntards and also being low DPS as the game goes on is a known that didn’t exist in Vanilla that doesnt sit well with many people. Not to mention many people find the pet and arrow aspect more annoying than appealing.
We also know how the classes change over the xpacs, mages and warriors are going to be top tier classes not only now but in the next few xpacs.
Amazing in pvp and pve and you not only start that way in classic, but as other specs finally become viable, you are still on top. RMP is basically an evergreen 3s comp, warriors end the first few xpacs as both the best tanks and the highest DPS.
If you like enhance sham once they get DW, your best bet is to level a shaman before TBC drops and play a class that can raid as mdps, same with pally tanks, you waiting till TBC to be made more than a joke, and wrath to put you mechanically on par.
If you like a class the whole way through, thats one thing, but if you want to be a dps shaman or a raid tanking paladin, you got a minute of playing the class while not doing those things, or you could just play warrior, and tank right now, do dps right now, and reroll to pally when they become the class you want to play.
Odds are classic becomes progression and we slowly go through all the xpacs, if you have played the game for a long time, you can future proof yourself with your class choice right now.
My gut wants to say fury warrior or holy pally, but I get a ton of random raid whispers for people needing locks, aka me. I guess banishes are fairly must have right now for MC
