Melee DPS have a trinket that does more damage than our entire elemental AoE combo.

2 pc can increase dmg of ES/EQ/EleBL by 25%
If Talented FS ticks can increase ES/EQ/EleBL by 60%
If talented mastery can cause your ES/EQ/EleBL to duplicate cast for reduced dmg
If talented casting ES can cause your EQ to do 140% increased dmg
MotE talent increases dmg by 20%
So there are a ton of ways to beef up finisher dmg.

Lava Burst: A gnome sized globule of molten rock flung at roughly the speed of sound.

- You should be pooling maelstrom for the next pull.
- Earthbind, Earthgrab and cap totems can hold/snare targets in EQ
- If targets are dying that fast then your keys should skyrocket since the content is so trivial or the tanknshould pull way more.
You can pool maelstrom for every pull, it won’t compete even 60% of what Blade Flurry or Eye Beam do. Aka Why bring an ele shaman

No. Higher key groups will just bring more melee bursters because they are more effective. Again you definitely do not play a shaman.

AoE is designed to do less dmg than st or there’d be no reason to use st abilities.
This is the very reason why you cannot have a constructive discussion with mouth breathers. Even when you provide constructive criticism and information to them all they know how to do is get offended and keep moving the goal post of the discussion until you stop replying so they can feel right. Let me show you what I mean.
The OP starts out the conversation complaining about EQ dmg/duration and that it is a ground effect. Nothing else added, no other information. Just that it is a ground effect that (according to them does way too little dmg over too long of a period of time.
To which I only answered the dmg portion and the myriad of ways to actually beef up EQ dmg so that it is competitive. Seeing as how EQ is typically 20-40% of my dmg depending on affixes, etc.
So we now move the goalpost of the discussion from how little dmg EQ does (since I have created rectal pain by proving that wrong) to that melee will just completely kill all the targets before you can get 1 EQ down.
Which I replied that if the dps are carrying SOOOOOOO hard and things are dying SOOOOOOO fast you could pool maelstrom to get not 1 but 2 EQ down at the start of the pull. You can also use slows, snares, stuns to keep targets in your EQ on top of maybe the tank can pull a ton more mobs so there are more to kill making the runs faster and your key higher.
I mean come on if your group is pumping this hard you should be doing some 20+ keys or something, right???
Now being desperate to appear right and save face, we move the goal post yet again. Not only does ele suck but only DH/Combat rogues are apparently doing high keys because they do 60% more dmg than us. Oh, and let’s throw some personal attacks in there to really feel good about ourselves.
And of course, we can’t use snares/ roots or stuns because we were clearly only speaking on this week and sanguine affix. And we know NO ONE roots, stuns, slows mobs during sanguine. Making EQ even worse. It’s odd how when I watch higher keys, since I clearly don’t play shaman, they are using the crap out of EQ casting it slightly ahead of the soon to be sanguine pools that the tank is kiting the mobs into.
With the correct build you can pop off 100+ DPS easily with 5 targets every 45 seconds to 1 min. And since everything in your group is dying in 1 min you should be doing fine.
But I’m sure you have several more goal posts to move forward and more insults to cast instead of actually providing information rather than excuses.

The irony of this statement is breathtaking.
I didn’t write a thesis on how and why the number of situations where earthquake is weaker than most other DPS classes instant cast/auto AoE spells.
I get it, it’s hard for you to imagine a world where you’re not the main character and can drum up magical imaginary situations on paper with a class and spec that you don’t play so I’ll go ahead and end it right here.
