Earthen: the only race that is an actual detriment to pick when playing at peak performance

Their racial only provides secondary stats, so objectively worse for most classes and cannot be replaced by eating raid food like anyone else

Can’t even eat regular food to restore health and mana, that’s gonna cost a gem too

Playing tank? Well then go ahead and take your active racial off your bar too, can’t block, dodge, or parry while casting

Even the worst races before could still make some use of their poor qualities, or at least cover them up. Earthen are the first race where you are actively nerfing yourself by choosing them

Disclaimer: Always remember racials are more flavor than anything else. Your chosen race will never be the difference between clearing or failing a raid or M+. That said, man does it feel bad waiting for these guys only for this to be the result…

It actually does appear that Earthen will be the difference between winning or losing arena matches sometimes, and could potentially cause failed M+ as well. The inability to drink for mana is a major issue - Earthen can’t just drink water like anyone else. I can’t find a vendor anywhere selling generic gems that an Earthen can eat/drink - so the only option would be to spend thousands on cut gems which isn’t really a viable solution for arena players.

I’ve been told they can drink Mage water. So there are ways around the mana issue - but it is still a strange design choice. Food buffs being permanent as a trade-off for being strictly worse that regular food buffs (that can be cooked to persist through death) is not all that helpful either…

Edit: I’ve confirmed they can eat mage food.

I didn’t realize i was NERFING myself when I purchased the race change to Earthen. I leveled up Fishing to 300 and spent a ton of Gold on fishing tools and the enchant. then maxed cooking and crafted a ton of the Goulfish Delight, planed on going for the Saturday fishing event mount achievement this weekend and now I cant eat my fishing food. most likely my own fault I didn’t read about the Race just thought it was cool to be a Horde Dwarf.
