Starting yesterday, I keep needing to reapply Earth Shield on tanks. It does not matter how many stacks it has left. It simply gets removed. At first, I thought maybe it was being replaced by another shaman’s earth shield, but this is not the case, as the tank has zero earth shields on them when mine gets removed. This was not an issue for a long time until yesterday. Does anyone know what is causing this?
I had the same feeling last night doing keys. It felt like Earth Shield needed to be refreshed more. I’m looking at some longs and I THINK they maybe had changed the ICD on earthshield. Comparing some older keys to the newer ones, the average time in-between consuming charges used to be like 3-6 seconds, now it’s basically always exactly 3 seconds. But I’m not seeing any big drops in charges.
So theres some buff effects that are unable to stack on a single player like having Earth Shield and Beacon from an Holy Paladin. That might be it.
Thats actual interesting, I haven’t been trying to place Earth Shield on other players but that might be something.
I think I had the same issue testing stuff last night in LFR.
I just assumed another shaman was overwriting my shield but iirc it happened in some of the lfr’s that didn’t have another shaman too.
My earth shield was falling off at different times. Sometimes it would last longer than others. In all tests, it would still have multiple stacks and suddenly drop. Therefore, it does not seem to be internal cooldown dependent. Perhaps with this new patch, it’s not allowing overlapping of earth shield with other buffs. If so, was this by design, or a bug?
So I just did several raids on my sham just fine until the last raid and earth shield kept falling off when another resto sham would put it on the same tank. Once he got the hint and moved to the other tank it stopped being a problem. Unaware if it shares with pally beacon, as our holy pally didn’t seem to use his.
