Pay2Win isn’t about “winning” in every game it’s in. In games where there is never a winner, or just don’t end, “Pay2Win” is about having an advantage over other players because you were willing to spend money to buy that advantage.
Yes, the people who paid early access are going to use their time to level up and have an advantage over the people who didn’t get the paid early access. There will be those who then use that advantage to kill the fresh lowbies who started on the official launch day.

Fine. Let the PVE servers have early entry passes, and PVP can all start at the same time. Compromise!
Perception of fairness. A new player may not even hear about the ability to purchase the head start (and more hardcore players would, by their nature, be significantly more likely to purchase it)… At least with the game launching all at once they know the race started at the same time.
I will have 3 characters over 20 by the end of the first week, and am hoping to have the “main” pushing mid 30s-40… and I’m admittedly the exact kind of person who would pay for early access, so this issue really won’t hamper me one way or another… That being said, I also want as many people to play classic as possible, and I think that’s best accomplished by actually starting everyone out on an even playing field… Early access is imo an even worse idea than sharding the 1-12 zones.
EDIT: I’d also add I think putting in P2Win features in classic would set an INCREDIBLY bad precedent that I blatantly don’t trust ACTI-blizz to not abuse.

I want to play now too man. But no.
Don’t support that kind of nonsense. Seriously. Its bad enough we paid for blizzcon tickets just to try that demo. (I did anyway…)
This sort of thing should not be encouraged. We are close now, lets just wait it out.

And what exactly is that advantage? In pvp, there is no honor system in Phase 1 so you are talking about a few pointless kills at best. After a full one-week head start, few players will be above level 40 and most will be ignoring the players just joining the game as they try to get to 60.
In pve, all of the raids require attunement and 40 people so no one is going to miss out on raiding because they are a week behind.
Early access is a terrible idea and would absolutely wreck any servers that it would be exposed to in both PvE and especially PvP terms.

Why charge $25 for early access when people will clearly pay $60?

I think it’s a terrible idea from a PR standpoint even though it would make Blizz a ton of money, but the predictions of doom are pretty silly.
Shhhhhhhh… c’mon duuude… seriousllllly…
ooooh, how about this. Blizzard charges $10 for every day you want to start early, up to $150.
Who’s taking the 15-day head start?

I’m going to need to go and do that retail gold farming thing just to pay for early access because you can’t be quiet.
Please refrain from giving Activision any ideas.

oh, have some fun! It’s ok because Blizz would absolutely never do this.

Agreed it’s not like we should tell them to add in loot boxes for Pets and mounts, honor bonus’s and Exp bonus’s from said lootboxes.
Because everyone cares about the honor system right? There is no way someone who just kills other defenseless players for their own personal giggle factor would ever buy the early access right? Dishonorable Kills don’t stop players like that, not having an honor system won’t either. So while there is no long term “advantage” the fact is, it’s still a paid advantage over other players.
My point was about pvp in the 1st place, so this part is kind of irrelevant.
You say that now.
Before you know it, Goblins will be setting up shop in Molten Core selling you mana potions for $4.99 each.

Companies have actually now succeeded in ramming MTX-esque concepts so far down our throats, that the players themselves are now suggesting the idea.
What a time to be alive.

If you think about it, raid bosses are basically killable loot boxes you have to share.
Oh yes i love watching streamers play things early…
