Im a bit confused, I could have sworn when I purchased TWW collectors edition I was supposed to get sent the early access code but all I got was a beta access code. I ordered it a few days ago and it comes on friday, a day after early access starts. I have to wait for it to come in the mail to get the code for early access?
I posted in another forum but accident and they said I have to wait till Thursday to receive it via email but I also haven’t received the in game stuff like transmog and mount, anyone know why? Thanks in advance I never purchased anything but regular editions so I don’t know a lot about this
The easiest way to check is to see if you already have the Squally pet on live (the heroic edition also gets the transmog and mount, but no pet or early access). If you do, your account’s already on the epic edition and you’ll have early access on Thursday.

Why would they be separate? Pretty sure it’s just 1 code to upgrade. Beta access = upgraded to Epic edition
ETA: Did your launcher change to say War Within? If so, you’re good
in my email it specifically says beta access code, nothing about early access code
and no my launcher did not change to war within
Since you don’t appear to have Squally in your pet collection, that’s not a good sign.
Best of luck on your search for clarity.
(Odd that the battle.net account management page doesn’t seem to list which expansion licence we have)
Code for the “Epic Edition” comes within the physical box of Collector’s Edition. Beta code is just that, for Beta.
As far as I know, you only have two options:
- Wait til the physical CE gets there and miss the first day of EA
- Purchase digital Epic Edition now to guarantee EA then when you use the CE code, it will refund the digital preorder to Blizzard Account Balance(not original method of payment)
Though, again, this is only as far as I know- It is possible you’ll get an emailed code on the first day of EA to get access if that is what others say.
Collector’s Edition code is just an Epic Edition code inside a retail box. You won’t receive anything from the CE early to prevent anyone from fraudulently attempting to return the box while keeping the codes or trying to sell them off. Side note, if anyone sees any gray market web sites trying to sell TWW Epic Edition codes at a discount, those codes are probably stolen and will get your account banned if you try to use them.
Exact copy from the gear shop CE page:
“If you want to enjoy the The War Within digital items and any available access before receiving your Collector’s Edition, you can buy The War Within on the Battle.net shop. If you buy The War Within (Base, Heroic, or Epic) on the Battle.net Shop and then redeem a Collector’s Edition code later on, you will automatically be refunded the cost of your original digital purchase in Battle.net Balance, as long as you redeem the Collector’s Edition code before December 31, 2025.”
