Okay first things first, Disclaimer- I do not think early access was a good idea.
But since it is happening, I wanted to talk about how far we can get into gearing. What is the absolute most someone in early access can achieve?
From what I’ve read than we will only have access to normal dungeons, and Lv 3 delves.
Normal and Follower dungeons reward ilv 554 gear.
Delves - bountiful delves can be completed once a day at tier 3 for an item level piece of 571. Which can be upgraded to 593 with valorstones.-This is limited daily so even if you were a farm machine you would cap out at 4 pieces of gear. And this is assuming you were able to level and get into a tier 3 bountiful delve on day 1, which most likely won’t happen.
Anyway, have I missed anything? And does this even matter, or are you planning to take it slow and level? See the story ect?
Given that a fraction of the population will have early access, and not everyone will be zerging max level, AND we’re timegated on gearing up… it should have next to no real impact on gearing.
Professions are a different story, though.

I agree, because as soon as early access is lifted, and people are able to run higher level delves and other content it would make this intial gear fall out really fast.
It really depends on what exactly they are going to lock or not. I didn’t bring up professions, because I have no idea how available they will be in early access.
this ^^ the timegating pretty much ensures early access doesn’t have any gameplay advantage.

We have no idea about that. My guess would be 50 to 60 percent.

That’s fine. But people will still want to know exactly how far they can go, and what they can do while early access is still available.
my guess is a bit lower, but definitely not insignificant.

I’m not going to sweat gear during ea, I’m going to focus on getting my warband leveled to 80

You pretty much nailed what will be possible gearing wise in EA.
I won’t really be worrying about it much myself. Once EA is lifted I’ll worry about gearing. Going to take my time level my main and my main alts. Healer (main for TWW), Tank (Always have one), my OG Main (Fury Warrior) and Mage. Whether I get all those done during EA or not is a diff story. That’s the goal though.

No way it is even over 20%. I would guess 5% or less. There are alot of people that play though so 5% would still a very large number of people.

The gear from early access will be irrelevant.
Heck, the gear from the first 2 weeks will be irrelevant.
Expansion launches September 10 for all practical purposes. Arguably Sept. 17, even.

Just the ones that get a camp fire slot.

If you can do that during EA I’ll give you 10K gold.

I mean it wasn’t like do or die for me, just what I was gonna focus on.

If I upgrade to Epic, I am just hoping to get this character to 80 in a timely fashion.

Yea idk how long it takes to hit 80, usually not very long to bust out the 10 levels every expansion though.
I’ll get as far as I can.
Plus the servers could be on fire the whole time so who knows.

I’m just excited I can get two or three 80s before the main group of people show up to start questing. The true alt experience.

The real gear comes from the seasonal rewards, such as raids, mythic+, even rated PVP. Most of the stuff outside of that is just irrelevant. And nothing is fully unlocked until the season actually opens.
I mean, I have early access, and I do plan on playing during early access, but mostly only to start with levelling. And I do take my time on the first character to experience the story first. Then it is off to level my alts and hopefully, also, unlock the Dwarves.

I’m going to do the campaign quests and do some gathering. I’ll be very happy if I hit lvl 80 on one toon. I’ll be super-happy if I manage to finish the campaign on that toon.

I’m changing mains this time around, so I’ll be using the couple of days between end of Timerunning and Early Access to level that character, and then I’ll gear up organically by running through the story. I expect at least one “Intro to Delves” quest, and I should be able to get my gear to a reasonable and survivable level. I’d like to hit 80, but I’m not pushing that.
Also, I’ll be doing gathering profs, and seeing what kind of money I can make on the AH. I’m willing to gouge and/or undercut early adopters for the sake of a quick buck. And if it’s like the last couple of expansions, I may choose skinning, just because it’s going to be trivial to get to max level. I mean you could have done that in DF before you even left the starter area, if you were determined enough.
