As the title would suggest it would be nice to open up ear customization for every race, mostly just elves and trolls. Worgens would benefit greatly from this as well. With the new customizations coming in 9.0 thought this would be a great time to suggest this. So if there’s a character model you really like but don’t like the ears, rejoice this thread is for you.
Elves in general would share all of their ear options such as nightborne’s upwards ears being on a standard night elf or the vertical ears from a blood elf being on a nightborne or just having night elf knife ears on a void elf for just some examples.
Additionally for elves and trolls or races with intrusive ears in general there would be options such as severely reduced/trimmed or shaven ears allowing you to enjoy your character to the finest detail.
As for humans and forsaken undead, as controversial as this would be there could be ear options to allow you to tell the world that you have elven heritage.
Anyways, thanks for reading. What ear options would you like to suggest? For what race and why?

I actually don’t want them to be spending money on this but it is a w/e they are going to waste it regardless.
However, if character appearance was so important to me, I actually wouldn’t even be playing this game because with the graphics they are never going to look good to me.
I highly disagree. Character avatars are extremely important. It allows us to express ourselves.
I think this would be a great investment seeing how this would contribute to replay value.
We all play the game for different reasons. Really goes without saying.
And the graphics in this game are fantastic. Least in WoD and up. Cata had some good places as well.

How can you compare the graphics in this game to a Final Fantasy ?
Regardless, my opinion on this is that it is a waste of resources because to me the characters appearances are never going to be good anyway.

I have never, in the history of the game payed attention to the characters ears.
The only ones that have ears that matter already have ear options.
Gnome ears I agree should have the option to not be ugly, but that should go along side some non ugly faces as well for them.
But this isn’t really a feature I want extended to elves and humans at all.
Would be a waste of resources.
I was hoping for backne customization.
They’re still crazy dated and running on an ancient engine. I don’t like FF or ESO but they blow wow away in terms of graphics and customization.

Not sure if I’m remembering this correctly, but years ago, before I started playing WoW, I remember being curious and checking out character creation. And I seem to remember rather extreme customization options, like, eyebrows, eye shape, as well as other very specific features.
When I finally decided to play WoW some years later, I was surprised at how much simpler character customization became.
Was this WoW, or am I remembering something else?
Probably you are thinking of another game. This game always had different faces you could select from for things like eyebrow shape, eye shape, etc. Never had ‘extreme’ customization options. There are other MMOs out there that have a ridiculous number of options in my opinion.

Final Fantasy’s graphics are far below average and will not stand the test of time as opposed to the stylized graphics of WoW.
This should have been a thing for when they made orcs that way.
With a lot of HD pieces in the game the devs really do shine. Though I highly doubt blizz would put forth any more time in retexturing armors. A world revamp is coming eventually (not next expansion). Never thought FF14 ever had good graphics.
You certainly do when you play a night elf, those ears are awful… but the model is so good.
I don’t consider them below average. I am not sure what this test of time business is either to be honest, they likely will improve them.
FF is listed as one of the best graphics in MMOs - don’t see WoW on that list anywhere.

I’m always for more customization.
So MMOs and RPGs shouldn’t even try so long as there’s something like Final Fantasy offering top-tier graphics and character models?
Customization in any game where you’re supposed to identify to some extent with your character is sometimes important, but always a bonus. Transmog wouldn’t be as big a thing as it is if the truth were otherwise.

In my opinion this game shouldn’t be trying. You don’t continually throw money at weaks points when they still will be weak points. They would be far better off spending that money on areas they are strong on - whatever that may be.
Well FF14 is getting a major overhaul for next gen so will look goregous
I am so glad Blizzard doesn’t listen to people like you. Thank goodness, actually, they don’t. There’s more to the game than just raiding and it’s about time they added in more customization. Don’t like it? Too bad.
Also, I’d sound just as silly saying “Well they can’t balance classes so they should stop spending money on raids”.
Thank you Blizzard for putting the effort in to character customization and acknowledging the fact that not all of us are mythic end game raiders that don’t care about how we look.

Yes they are doing just great at holding customers the direction they are heading.

Well then see ya! Feel free to back up any claims with actual statistics…which you don’t have.
To OP: Ear customization would be lovely. As would more jewelry options.

You… how dare you…
Our ears are Metzenite! Sacrosanct!

Shocked that Goblins never got the option to have the half an ear blown off look. Oh well.
WoW’s style works for them, FFXIV’s style works for them ESO’s style works for them. Each having very unique and beautiful designs and all three being equally terrible in their own right. Though all being mmorpgs, all are greatly different from each other. Although, if given the choice I’d steal from ESO and let all non fur/scale…erm draenei/undead races have the option to have freckles or not.
