When I’m flying close to “leveled” but want to dip ever so slightly down, the game auto-levels my character.
I have to dip down alot. What’s with not letting me control my own character the way I want, devs?
its been happening since prepatch
idk what causes it.
sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesnt which makes it tough to replicate and see what causes this
My hope has been that it’s a bug and that they will fix it. I mean it doesn’t seem to happen all the time, so it seems buglike. But as it continues to exist I get more and more worried about its intentionality.
Happens for me in steady flight when I’m farming ores and herbs. Thought my keyboard or mouse was borked first time it happened recently.
yeah, this is annoying, it happens on skyriding and static flight.
Oh yeah I noticed that too. It like, locks itself on a super straight hover, almost like an aim lock and you have to really man handle it to get it to stop. Really weird.
All I want is an option to turn it off, it happens all the time when dragonriding.
Happens in my druid flight form very frequently. Less common on other mounts, but it happens with all of them sometimes.
It’s been around since pre-patch and it makes efficient flight way more difficult to do. That sweet spot of angled decent is totally skipped when this bug occurs. You can only drop at like a 30 degree+ angle.
Been noticing this a lot lately, particularly on the eng flying machine. Having to force the nose down at a harsh angle is a bad time indeed, seems contrary to the whole idea of resource management for dynamic flight.
Tricky to replicate.
Thats really odd? might actually be a bug im using a ps5 controller and have not ran into it yet (god i hope not controller locking up in dawnbreaker would send me right to rage mode) so pray it might get addressed.
And I thought I was going crazy. I’ve been noticing this quite a bit and it is super annoying. It feels worse on a regular mount using skyriding vs one of the dragonriding mounts, but that could just be me /shrug.
You’re not crazy, sister. We are many. We are watcing. We are legion.
I’m seeing this too. I noticed it more in stable flight. Not sure if it’s intentional or not. But if so, I’d love an option to turn it off.
I am having this issue and it’s making it much harder to control. I don’t know why this is an imposition on players.
I only even noticed this in druid flight form. I haven’t leveled my druid much yet, but it’s already happened enough that I put a regular flying mount on my bars and stopped using flight form.
Just to point it out since someone on reddit figured out the cause: This happens when you mount up while standing in, on, or slightly above water (though it doesn’t seem to happen if you mount while deep underwater). The assumption is that the flag that causes your mount to level out when you skim the surface is automatically applied when you mount up and forgetting to deactivate when you leave the water.
The issue is a bit egregious as a gatherer since a lot of herb/ore nodes tend to spawn on coasts, near rivers, waterfalls, etc.
If you land on solid ground and re-mount, the issue will stop.
It happens when you mount over water/in water. At least, I’ve noticed that to be the case after someone else also pointed out it involves water. I think, having not extensively tested it, it is both wading height water and swim depth water.
Thanks, I’d been looking for a fix! And indeed, I only noticed this during a race which starts on water.
