I recently played WoW classic and then came back to retail and I noticed something. Dwarves seem a lot shorter in retail compared to other races than in classic.
According to Google, Dwarves are on average 4-5 feet tall. Humans are 5-6 feet tall. So 4.5 to 5.5 that’s approximately 80% of the height of a human. However, in the game, Dwarves are more like 70% of the height.
I’m a Dwarf player and this bugs me to no end. I also play Undead and didn’t like what they did to them either in the graphics / race updates.

That’s crazy. I just used Google search myself and what it told me was that there is no Dwarven race. I wonder how they got those figures for average height?

They should have a height slider.
I like how tall the rock dwarves are but hate how sedated they sound. Like, am I playing a free dwarf or am I trafficked?

dwarves do seem to be a bit shorter than Id think…more like halfling…harfoot hobbits, than dwarves.
Not a huge deal…still like them for transmogging over many other races in the game
I would like dwarves to be a little shorter, and gnomes much shorter. They are about the same height in-game!
I wish they would increase the height of the old dwarf races to match the Earthen. The little bit of extra height massively improves the look of mogs due to there being a lot less squishing of the boots, pants and chest mogs.
We got more girth, it’s all good.

Okay, I never noticed any height change on my dwarf main and you got me wondering if I’m crazy, so I took my dwarf on Classic and stood it next to a mark on the wall that’s in both Classic and Retail, and did the same with my retail main. They’re the same height.

If you scroll up on the mouse wheel, your Retail Dwarf will be the same height as your Classic Dwarf.

What makes me laugh about dwarves is the blindness behind their, “I CAN SO!” approach.
Hand one a basketball and tell them they can’t dunk on an official height net. I can’t tell you how long it will take but that dwarf will pass out trying to prove you wrong.
Try it sometime, it beats listening to them drone on about how well they can dig.
Yea, I get it bro. you can dig and tunnel. Awesome. I’ve been to the beach. I get it.
It’s a 5% difference. I measured it. Classic it’s 75% while retail is 70%.
Type in “how tall are dwarves compared to humans”, you should get the result I got.
Is your retail dwarf a warrior? Is your dwarf wearing the ring from Siren’s Isle with the gem that makes them larger passivly?

Thank you! So it looks like they are in fact the right height. Using the chart above, which if I am not mistaken is the game’s internal models of races, I get approximately 77%.
Undead are unreasonably tiny. Put an undead next to a gnome and they’re basically the same body mass

Literally shrink-flation in wow. Dwarf is still the same price, but now you get less dwarf for your money.
Unbelievable Blizzard.

You know what though? It’s crazy when I measure the player model in the actual game to a human, I get roughly ~ 72.5 - 73.5% of the height of a human. But the wiki shows the height to be 77%. Maybe that wiki page is innacurate?
Dwarves in Deep Rock Galactic are 1.5 meters tall, or 4.9 feet.
It’s interesting to me that another game has dwarves about the same height, I guess there’s a standard somewhere.
Also Earthen being as large as they are kinda weirds me out. They’re pretty much human-sized, maybe a foot shorter. Easily 20% larger than a Dwarf.
I believe you may be thinking about this far too much.
