Dwarf leveling classic

hey guys! do you think it would be more beneficial to go straight into loch modan as a dwarf in classic? or should i jump right into westfall once i hit 10?

I was just thinking the progression into redridge would be smoother, what do you guys think? ive never leveled in loch modan ive always went straight into westfall. any advice would be much appreciated

I’d definitely at least do the first few quests in the zone, easy enough to do and it’ll give you a boost into westfall.

There’s also a quest that you actually need to go to sw too.

I think i’ll hit up darkshore, less competition.

Loch Modan isn’t bad, I feel like there are not as many quests in that area and you definitely are running longer distances to complete them and turn in, but it’s a fun area.
Most likely you are not going to see as many people as you would in Westfall either, those things are something to consider.

Ally early leveling kinda stinks.

You need to do some of Loch, Darkshore, and Westfall.

so really i should just complete the loch modan area first, then make my way into westfall?

At least the quests in the western part of the zone. The eastern part is too much running around.

You will run into and do not quote me… but if you go loch modan there are only about 6-8 quests you can do before running into red. So you have to go to westfall unless you want to go darkshore. If i were you id go loch, westfall, redridge. Esp if you have a lvling buddy.

I’m planning to go Loch Modan for 11-12 . then to darkshores 12-17ish. then back to LM to get me ready for redridge 18 or 19 ish. the only way I would go to westfalls is for DM or a specific equipment quest

thanks for the advice everyone! so you dont really need to start westfall from the oats quest at the wagon to get the deadmines quest from stoutmantle?

Even as a Human or Night Elf I start out with the first part of In Defense of the King’s Lands and Trogg Teeth, Kobold Ears and Blood Sausage before moving over to Westfall for a few levels, then I come back and finish the Loch before going back to finish Westfall and start Redridge.

After hitting a wall in Redridge, you hop over to Wetlands, then Duskwood, then come back to finish it and continue Duskwood, eventually Duskwood will send you back to Wetlands.

Stay in loch Modan till about 14-16, the fight for bandanas and harvesters in the early westfall quests are some of the fiercest fights for spawns in the game.

Just go to stoutmantle to do the chain . if I remember right you cant have someone share mid chain . the other 5 DM quest can be shared. im not a fan of westfalls leveling . that said I may take that chain for the staff. DS is much more efficient to level

The first time through, you gotta do the dwarf route if for no other reason than immersion. So I’m gonna go with loch modan.

Dwarf areas will be less crowded. I also find that Dun Morogh is much more difficult than Elwynn which I appreciate.

You’re likely going to do both loch modan and westfall, I usually go to loch modan first then westfall, and then back to loch modan again to do the rest of the quests I was too low lv for at the time.

well heres an example, im level 12 right now on elysium, i did the entry loch modan quests and have only 2 quests remaining that im able to pick up and both are orange. should i try to do those or is that the point where i jump to westfall or darkshore? theres a few quests that are greyed out and i cannot pick them up yet in thelsamar

that’s the point I would jump to DS. next 5 lvls in DS are fast and ez. westfalls is not as fast at lvl 12. I don’t like westfalls at all till 15+

Yea, that zone gets a tad higher real quick.
There are quests on the east side of the zone that have some nice quest upgrades for hunters, you may need to be in the lvl 14 range for them though.
Darkshore is a good option till then.

ill head there then! whats the best way to get to DS from IF?

I would personally recommend Westfall, but just run north and then west through Wetlands to Menethil Harbor, take the boat to Darkshore.
