If so, could you tell me about it, please?
I canât wait to see the video and resulting memeâs.
âYou think you do, but you donâtâ
âYou guys have phones donât you ?â
Comming soon from blizzcon 2019 - âthere wasnât enough interest in Classic, so weâve abandoned the phase releases after phase 3â
TBC/WoTLK servers were asked about and they basically said they could do them and arenât opposed to doing so, but they want to make sure itâs the right move.
My own opinion is theyâre pretty much guaranteed to happen over classic plus content. About the only way they donât happen is if classic has a massive drop off.
That seems to be the most likely thing to happen.
I donât expect BC servers to come out for at least two years, tho.
Agreed. I think they are going to do it they just donât want to announce it any time soon. Classic + is stupid because most people liked tbc more cuz their meme spec mattered suddenly. I think theyâd be incredibly stupid to think itâs the wrong move⌠though they still seem surprised at how many people play classic so who knowsâŚ
I donât think itâs any more complicated than the fact that rereleasing TBC is safer and easier/less time consuming than building new content for classic plus. The only way Iâd argue differently is if they pulled TBC and WoTLK content to implement into classic, but I doubt theyâll go that route.
Blizzard gave a big hint on how they want to do old content: in Shadowlands you can talk to Chromie and level up in any expac through the caverns of time.
I am thinking Blizzard is going to eventually hook up Classic, TBC, Wrath, ETC into retail. You simply make a character and play what style you want. You could move your character to Shadowlands or play TBC for example.
Q: We love classic - will we get a BC or Wrath server?
A: It is possible, but we have to be really careful with how to proceed. We did not have changes in mind when we put classic out. Need to be super thoughtful - not everyone playing classic wants to play BC. We just want to do the right thing, weâre not opposed to it.
(from https://www.wowhead.com/news=296022/blizzcon-2019-world-of-warcraft-q-a-liveblog .)
Iâm actually mildly alarmed that even though the question was unambiguously âa BC or Wrath server,â the answer doesnât talk about separate servers.
Because that would be a massive community division and it would only get worse with wotlk. Itâs either we all progress or none of us do.
You donât work at Blizzard, so I donât know why youâre trying to answer why they did something, much less with the same âno community divisionâ line Wall of No players used to declare that there would never be Classic.
I want the xpacs as much as the next person. However, you are choosing to ignore how much it would fracture the community.
Again, you do realize you sound just like a retail Wall of No player, right?
âYou canât fracture the community! Make everyone play the version of the game I want!â has not suddenly become a respectable argument since Classic was announced.
âŚand again, what I said was entirely about Blizzardâs response on what theyâre going to do, not your opinion on what they should do. I gather that if they poll the forum weâll be on opposite sides; message received.
How would it âfracture the communityâ any more than having multiple servers?
90% of the playerbase would go to tbc. Now classic has to either merge into one server or die. I donât think you understand how many people would progress into bc. You also have to consider who realms moving to tbc⌠but what if like 100 people donât want to move from that server? What do they do? Why would they put all that work into making separate tbc servers when they can just progress classic to tbc?
WTB TBC servers!!
Itâs a dismal day when Ion has a good answer to your question.
Doesnât mean they will do separate servers. That meant no tbc and i think you know it.
In regards to this quote, heâs right about people like this:
You see, they thought they could handle Azeroth without LFG (which is what he was talking about) or other QoL features. It may not be you nor me, but these people do exist.
All what work?
So, from my perspective, you havenât answered the question at all. The argument of fracturing the community is baseless and ridiculous. We are not all on one single server, so it doesnât matter.
Some people play Retail, and some people play Classic. A lot of people play both, and will play both. I donât have numbers, but I wouldnât be surprised if the numbers indicate that most people play both (of course, thatâs a bit off topic).
In any case, you are really going to have to define precisely what you mean by fracturing the community, because it just sounds like a really, really silly argument that is making up some phrase for a fabricated situation that simply doesnât exist.
Youâre confused. Theyd have pay for all those new servers. Theyd have to copy or transfer over everyoneâs characters. Just because you donât understand doesnât make it invalid.
