Dungeons and Raids no longer fun

Why?

  1. Elitism
  2. Gogo mentality
  3. Stressful
  4. Encourage elitist jerks to be complete jerks
  5. Can create drama between players
  6. Do a mythic+ key at whatever level with 90% chance to be disappointed with your loot or worse - never get loot.
  7. Another player who is a total jerk will get all the loot appropriate for his/her class.
  8. Forcing players to min/max stats despite of the broken loot table.

I don’t find this fun in the game: arguments between know-it-alls, dps competition, people care too much about dps meters, pumping more dps instead of dodging damage, pissing your healer off, and oh yeah elitism. Just kids with no jobs wanting to prove that they can do better dps than you.

What happened to this game? It used to be fun?

Why its fun.

  1. You have to git gud to do higher keys and mythic bosses
  2. Its fast paced constant pulls big numbers.
  3. Not boring and dull having to CC 3 mobs then kill one.
  4. Encourages people to be pickier and not have to carry anymore
  5. Eh dont be a baby.

DPS competitions are fun. I like seeing big numbers and I want to beat the other dps. Pretty sure I havent played with a kid in this game. Everyone is in their 25s+.

Its a ton of fun 10/10

TIL that pressing your buttons properly at a decent level is elitist.

So Shamdeeznuts is an example that this game is not fun. Full of toxic wannabes.

Hey man if you want a timed 15 key only 250k gold

Timed… didn’t get loot. Another reason why we don’t like it.

We can do a loot share for an extra 50k

No thanks. Paying someone so I can get loot is like pay to win. That’s not cool.

You dont want high level gear to pump those big numbers. I think its pretty neat to be honest

The sad part is that if I do get loot, I get some pretty cr3ppy gear with stats I don’t need. That doesn’t help with DPS at all, so I gave up and quit the game. It was pointless.

Sounds like that’s the best option for you tbh. Rng on what gear gas dropped has always been a thing so if that’s a sticking point for you then it’s time to take a break.

Then raiding isn’t for you, it’s designed to be competitive and the majority of people that raid like to min/max dps. I’m not entirely sure what stressful content you were doing at 414 ilvl, is this the main you’re posting on?

What exactly are you wanting from raids if not competition? They have always been like this since classic days. In my personal experience a lot of the people that complain about elitism and ‘jerks’ in raiding just want to put in zero effort in self improvement with their DPS and be rewarded, when questioned about their performance they accuse the person of being rude or ‘elitist’.

I’m never pissed when people kill themselves. You think 60+ corruption is a good time dps freestyle, I’ll notice when you’ve done nothing about the TfB. Slow heals from then on. Don’t care if the key fails and don’t care if you die repeatedly. Not a healer carry.

Edit: anyone who says “gogogo” or “elitist” in a post clearly does like challenge and doesn’t like their games to be exciting because “stress”. Some level of non threatening stress is good for people.

1:Elitism (People who are good at the game and want to perform well)

2:Gogo mentality (Raids typically take between 3-4 hours to fully complete. People dont want to sit in there for another 1-2 hours sitting around waiting.)

3:Stressful (This is a personal thing. I’ve been in raids and dungeons that never stop and have had 0 stress because the people were good and knew their roles. Find players you enjoy playing with and stress drops.)

4:Encourage elitist jerks to be complete jerks (The game itself doesn’t encourage this. The elitist players encourage this. If you dont like it make your own group or form your group with low RaiderIO score players. You’ll understand their mindsets after a few runs with 300-500 IO players in a +10 or higher)

5:Can creat drama between players (The only drama I’ve ever noticed happen is when a player does not perform their job well such as tanks not taunting adds or healers pulling exceptionally low numbers. There will always be some drama but if you’re a decent player people tend not to give you a bad time)

6: Do a mythic+ key and get bad or no loot (This one I agree with to an extent. However, the M+ system was put in place as a stop-gap measure to force players to play longer. Its changing in Shadowlands so :D:D:D:D:D)

7: Another player whos a total jerk will get all the loot appropriate for his/her class (This comes down to complete RNG and overall they probably ran the raids before and got absolutely nothing. You just grouped when lady luck hit them hard)

8: Forcing players to min/max stats despite broken loot tables (The loot tables themselves arent broken and min-max has always been a thing in WoW. If it annoys you that much I suggest finding a different game because prioritizing stats to improve your gameplay will always be a thing and in my opinion its a good thing. It shows who tried to find their BiS instead of just sticking on ilvl pieces only.)

All in all if you dont find the game enjoyable then you have every right to not play it. However, if your reasons for finding the game less than enjoyable are petty or small things that can’t be fixed by anything other than your own attitude and tolerance for people then the problem is on you and not blizzard. Also, if you are CONSTANTLY seeing these issues the real issue MIGHT just be you and your own attitude at circumstances.

Idk about you but Im a feral druid and I still managed to enjoy m+ in pugs. I have no complain at all i also get invited in keys with no problem.

First things first, if you don’t like pugging, find a guild.

Secondly, why do we need another post complaining about random drops? It’s always been that way. Rng is rng. Go play runescape or something and then come tell me how bad the rng is in WoW lmao

The RNG is awful in wow and poorly implemented systems are the only real highlight of this xpac.

That doesn’t have anything to do with OP needing to put on his big boy pants, its 1 (albeit very tired) valid concern mixed in among a bunch of “I shouldn’t have to try hard”.

People should need to learn the game and get better to get better rewards, but when they actually take the time to do the first half of that and bad rng/personal loot/bad corruptions ect take over it makes you feel kinda silly that you bothered.

When you can mass pull in dungeons, where’s the consequences or the responsibility or the interaction or the use of your spells to pull appropriately. Unless you’re doing a +10 through 20, I wouldn’t know though since I gave 2 thumbs down to BFA since the start.

Looks like someone didn’t get the memo :stuck_out_tongue:
