They seem to be under tuned? I could be wrong but watching streamers it just seems different. Discuss ppl.
I’m not convinced they are. Asmon made a few good points about how much better people are at the game now, and that can make a big difference.
I agree with him discussing that. It just feels different. Under tuned maybe?
Are they under tuned or over leveled for the content. I know you can get RFC quest at level 11-12 but should not go in until at least 13-14. I think Deadmines is based at 15, should go in around 17+.
If they are doing these dungeons at a higher level then they are intended that can cause some difficulty reduction as well.
I agree with that. They “streamers” seem to die more often questing. Shouldn’t the mobs be harder in a dungeon?
It’s likely that it is in tune with how they nerfed many dungeons in late Vanilla / 1.12.1. Though they do seem fairly easy compared to what I remember in Vanilla. Hard to separate the memories from early Vanilla and late Vanilla though xD
we’ll know for sure when people do, arguably, the hardest boss in vanilla, the jumping boss in BFD
It really bothers me that these streamers aren’t at the very least displaying their combat log.
That being said, Blizzard does have the capability of completely 100% verifying the integrity of values between retail & vanilla.
Classic = Retail Client + Vanilla DB
Vanilla = Vanilla Client + Vanilla DB
If there’s something between retail client & vanilla client causing damage mitigation, then they should have an automated way to verify this.
For example, damage RNG is based off some sort of random value.
They could for example test mobs in retail and vanilla using the same base random seed value and then compare combat log numbers.
Again though, it would be really constructive for streamers to show their combat log
Which is why more of us should be testing beta.
I had a nasty encounter with the BFD jumping boss while I was leveling this character. #nochange there.
People in beta are WoW veterans that know exactly what their roles are.
If you have a group like that, none of the dungeons are particularly difficult. Seems like most of my vanilla dungeon runs back then always had one or two players that were still figuring it all out or kind of distracted, etc.
Who can say.
It’s 1.12, lots of things were nerfed into the ground in this patch. You won’t find any meaningful PvE in the Naxxramas patch aside from Naxxramas.
Though, probably it’s undertuned - but they hold the keys to the real game, so we’ll never know for sure.
Lets discuss that Veteran topic. Body pulling as a tank, Demo on groups, not tab targeting and spamming sunder, etc. The TPS needs to be tested in dungeons. Stance dancing TC, Sunder, filler as HS. Seeing if taking Defiance adds 15% to threat…etc. Just playing the game is for them to get subs. Melee range of mobs for range testing TPS. I could go on and on.
1.12 lol 10 chars
Yea, (most) streamers are very skilled compared to the average player so it’s not a fair comparison.
i agree most. But watching the priest bubble a warrior tank is crazy. Not being able to take damage to have rage is annoying as heck to watch. Watching a warrior use shield block to avoid damage on mobs…etc.
You sound like a broken record.
The damage output from mobs does seem very low, to the point where it’s almost laughable. This may very well be Blizzlike, I really don’t know, all I know is compared to a certain cough server I’ve been playing on the last couple years watching the beta dungeons looks like playing on Easy mode.
A group of people who know the basics of their class, know the dungeon, and are all on voice com together should not have a difficult time in any of the leveling dungeons in 1.12. I haven’t run any dungeons yet myself but all of the streams I’ve seen look appropriately tuned. The level you run them makes a huge difference too. A group of 19-20s running deadmines is going to have a significantly easier time than a group of 17s (why does everyone always want to run deadmines at 17 anyway???)
