Having recently completed the Dungeon Tier 0.5 quests before the prepatch, do I need to need to have a separate dungeon tier 0 set at the launch of Cataclysm to obtain the transmog appearance? In general, do you need to have gear physically on the character at the launch of cataclysm and equip it to receive the appearance or is having equipped the set/piece of gear previously good enough?
I don’t totally remember, but I think transmog worked differently in Cataclysm from what it has been like in more recent expansions.
I think in Cata you had to go to the transmog vendor with the item in hand each time you wanted to transmog, and you’d click it onto the interface, rather than the game remembering what items you have and haven’t worn. I’m pretty sure I remember pulling things out of void storage to transmog, or putting things in so I could use them to transmog later. So by that logic you’d need to hold on to both versions.
Of course, there’s no guarantee they’ll do it the same way in Classic, or even if they’ll stick to whatever they’re currently doing on the beta.
