There is no way to reduced timers except entice more people to tank and heal. Problem is the community has made it so people would rather not tank and heal for pugs. We did this to ourselves.
WoW is moving towards more and more single player opportunities each day. It’s only a matter of time before we have totally single player dungeons, where you and 4 NPCs team up. Honestly, I’d welcome the option.
Yeah, it’s strange that the lack of community is a constant complaint on the forums while also having people that essentially want to make WoW into a single player lobby game posting at the same time
An idea is an idea, nothing to worry. I remember those little scenarios back then where it was more flexible with what role was needed to finish it and I found those to be really unpredictable and annoying. Sometimes being a certain role felt like a hinderance to the group really. So with that I do prefer there be a structure and the content be designed around that myself. But that’s my own experience.
I’m not sure what part of my post you’re confused about, maybe try quoting more specifically.
Was it the remark about more and more single player options? Legion had the Mage Tower, which was solo, BFA had visions, which were soloable, Torghast is soloable in Shadowlands, island expeditions from BFA are being made soloable in 9.1.5…seeing a pattern?
Are you perhaps questioning my suggestion of NPC co-op dungeons? They had that in Legion, when you’d get your artifact as a tank or healer. The AI was godawful, but nothing some work can’t fix. Just think of them like scenarios, which are solo.
I mean if you have your group why does it impact you?
That’s what I’ll never understand from some people.
Does it matter if they do? No. It won’t change how you play, but it will for others.
The way I’ve seen this in game when I was playing is that if you added NPCs boosters would be gone because no one would pay to boost up just so they can apply for groups. People would most likely grind it out with the NPCs if they were progressing.
Problem is the arguments for community are nonsense because groups in this community are no different than you hopping on with the boys for Warzone. It’s not really a community thing there just you playing with some friends. Community would imply you need people you don’t regularly play with in my view.
But right now the game is very much exclusionary. Adding these features would move more inclusivity and it would remove a bit of toxicity from pugging because players could experiment with different builds using NPCs.
a couple ideas of things they could do to get more tanks/healers in the game for random queued groups that don’t involve ripping the foundation of the trinity apart:
put some new pets and mounts or transmog sets in the bribe bags that are only available via the CTA satchels.
put an actual decent amount of augment runes in the bribe bags (sorry, not worth doing for one or two).
Notice, in my post, I said I’d welcome the option. Option, as in optional, not required. If it became the only way to do dungeons, it’d be a huge disaster, but sometimes I don’t want to deal with the toxicity of a random pug. A run where I get called a Huntard for pulling extra trash, the tank and healer leave and the Mage starts laughing and tells me it was him that pulled.
Sometimes you just wanna zone out, listen to a podcast and grind to 60. What’s wrong with that?
Yeah, they’re working on it, so I hear. Torghast can be done while leveling, but I read that the exp is abysmally low. They’ll find a way to perk it up, I’m sure.
hopefully they fix it. They seem to want us to take a long time leveling - it would be nice to have the option to speed it up a bit (thinking of those 300xp pots from mists)
Oh, not bad. Personally, I’d prefer just enemies scale to your group’s makeup, like they do in Torghast, Visions, scenarios, etc. No extra buttons needed! Just form a group and GO!
That way anybody could do a group together and do a dungeon, no worries needed over who tanks and who heals. That, to me, would be PERFECT.
