Just got an aff lock up to 70. Noticed I was hitting like a wet noodle against campaign quest mobs, but thought maybe the introductory quests were intentionally made to be a bit on the beefier side.
Get through the quests, open up dungeon finder queuing for TWW, and eventually get into the Rookery. Immediately notice my damage feels exceptionally low. Muscle through it to the first boss.
One shot by the lightning beam mechanic from full health.
Can we please undo the scaling changes? I strongly believe you had it right the first time. Toons without high ilvl gear, and just plain old questing and dungeon gear, are in for a time when they hit TWW content.

early 70 normal dungeons? yeah. still a skill issue for the most part. if you enter with a full team of fresh 70s though it feels like a mythic.
Undoing the changes would mean allowing fun, and we all know fun is forbidden

My Earthen warrior was getting her butt slapped a lot in early dungeons with unavoidable AoE because her item level was just not there. What I did (not that you should have to, which is the point, but itâs how I dealt with it) was go rare hunting and get their blue drops. Those extra pieces helped immensely with survivability.

Strongly agree that you shouldnât have to, but that is not a bad idea.
scaling accross the board in dungeons, delves etc is so bad right now
I know exactly what youâre talking about! Yes I had the same problem at 332 ilvl after hitting max, potentially worse if you say didnât get a gear drop.
Solution:
Keep doing MSQ till you get gear, makes it a lot more tolerable.
Alt Sol:
Lots of over scaled craft gear at 71 too. You can do old content till that level and be pretty decked out.
I would have just kicked you⌠Go spend like 5k and buy some BOEs you should be able to get a full 550/560ish set for that amount
Though they say âRequires level 70â while in the AH, once taken out of the mail box, they show their correct required level: 80.
The highest item level one can buy at 70 is⌠what all has carried over from Dragonflight. Auctioned scaled gear sets itself to 80 regardless of the buyerâs player level.
⌠you mean the lightning beam where the boss teleports to the center of the room, charges up, then shoots the beam as it slowly rotates around? That beam?
Well you see they had to increase the health of all mobs while leveling because people could kill mobs in under 5 seconds when they were in Mythic Raid gear from DF so all the fresh level 70s have to suffer for that. Unless of course you were there for early access. Tough luck, gotta shill out some doubloons next expack before they buff the health.
You can use demonic portal, unending resolve or soul stone next time for that laser beam. The first one works the best imo.
Your damage will be low but surviving the overworld is a non-issue even with like ilevel 300 gear. If itâs your first time through, just do the campaign quests, youâll get a few pieces from the opening quests that will give you a decent boost
If itâs an alt, those quests are still an option, but you can also do world quests for gear as well. It feels slow at first but each piece of 408 gear speeds up the process of getting the next piece exponentially. Iâd recommend not looking at dungeons until youâre at least about 370
Also, yeah, next time try avoiding the lightning beam in the first place. Mechanics like that are literally what Demonic Circle exists for

Just level up and gear up man. I noticed the same thing but it was more due to leveling extremely fast and my gear being garbage by the time i got to TWW.
Complaining about damage at 70 as soon as you get to the new xpac is kind of weird.
Affliction lock is terrible in easy dungeons because by the time it gets dots out things are already dead. So your damage will always be lower
They did, but then listening to the whining of the try-hards in their 500+ DF gear who complained about ânot using my full rotationâ so Blizzard made the changes which are 100% guaranteed to make life hell for newly leveled 70s 7unless they go back to DF and grind for end-game gear there first.

have you thought of hearing by just playing the game ?
