Dungeon Route help

I’m a long time healer and new tank. Because of my healing background, I spent a lot of my time in dungeons staring at party frames. This had led me to realize I know very little about dungeon routes. Places like Waycrest Manor are a maze to me. Tanking has been fun and I know the bosses and packs okay, but man I don’t know routes at all.

Is there any help to be had in game? I need to watch some videos but an add on would help. I’ve downloaded Mythic Dungeon Tools but I’m unclear how to use it. I’m assuming I need to import routes maybe? If so, do I need to pull up the map to see the route or will it assist without my map.

Bonus question: is there a good add on for mythic plus mob percentages? I keep messing that up as well.

This should at least help you get basic routes, which you can modify as you get experience:

You can also watch streamers and get routes from them.

So it doesn’t mirror it over onto your map, you have to open the addon to continue to see the route.

this ^^

What I do with routes I am not super familiar with is screenshot the MDT window and display that image on my 2nd monitor. it helps to be able to refer to it if I need.

MDT is great for route planning, but since you are already healing keys you can do a few more but focus on the route as well.

Just start tanking, and start pulling what you think is right.

When the party starts screaming and yelling, you know you made a wrong turn.

Note that for next time.

Try to not run 15s for your first tries at tanking.

Just go tank. And if you’re not sure, just ask the party.

Turns out I’m just being an idiot. Not surprising though I will say I took time to read some instructions on MDT and somehow missed this. Thanks all.

I’m only doing like 5-10 keys as a 460 bear Druid to offset my lack of dungeon knowledge. I also let the group know I’m a new tank and ask they let me know if I’ve wandered off.

So I’ve got the tool, but I don’t use it. For whatever reason I have a better time looking online on a webpage (I use keystone guru) and planning it out there.

After a few runs, you’ll mostly get have it memorized - may miss a mob or pack or two from time to time but it’s not the end of the world

Mythic dungeon tools add on. Allows you to plan route, share route, and calculate total %. If you are tanking, just spend a bit of time solo with the add-on and plan how you pull the mythic. Having a tough map of what you are pulling and how many groups you pull together makes it easier.

Just wander around and take the scenic route, DPS won’t mind.

Raider io posts weekly routes. I don’t tank but I look at them to know where to lust.

I just watched some of his stuff. His UI, specifically his plater set up, looked very handy.

I say just jump in and start pulling. Start on low keys, everything will die so fast that it shouldn’t matter if you go over on % a bit.

When I first started tanking I was actually surprised at how helpful a few folks were in saying which way to go.

I run his Elvui, weakauras, and details on all my characters. Switching to basically exact same UI, and exact same keybinds made playing 6+ characters much more fluid
