Dungeon Healing (Classic)

Since Blizzard insists we use these for class help, I guess I’ll try!

My little Resto Druid is 30, and after a bumpy Deadmines, I’m wondering if I’m doing what I should be.

I haven’t been using Regrowth much, due to the mana it uses. I keep rejuv on the tank, and I rejuv the group when they take damage. Healing Touch (Downranked to 4) and Healing Touch 5 when it seems needed to bring the tank or a DPS back up.

My problem is mana consumption. I seem to go OOM extremely quickly. While I played a Resto Druid in vanilla, I don’t really remember how it was mana wise for her.

It’s not a Blizz issue, it’s on you…
Being you’re asking in the appropriate class section, you’re at the right place.

As for your question, both WoWHead and IcyVeins have classic sections.

This may help, bit know mama can be an issue for RDruid:

Druids were far from efficient healers in vanilla days - we were far behind everyone else in that regard, with shamans being more efficient group/raid healers, and paladins being the most efficient single target/tank healers, with priests inbetween.

The saving grace for druid healers was innervate, but if I recall correctly you dont get it until level 40. Healing before that is going to be a little rough, and you’ll probably have to chug mana potions and drink inbetween fights to keep from going OOM.

Thank you both =). I’ll just have to work a tad harder, which is OK with me =D I love my Druid far to much to give up on her.

You can do fine with downranking hots you just need to be aware of the exact numbers they heal for per tick and how much damage the mobs do per hit. If you use a hot, let that do the healing and dont cast any spells until the hot is gone so you get your mana back. Its all about being proactive.

The main reasons people say druids spam healing touch is because of its healing efficiency and beacause hots do not stack. In a 5 man however, or if you are the only druid it is more efficient to use hots as long as you are not spamming and using them effectively.
