It also makes me think like what part of the community are they listening to? I almost feel like they signed into the wow forums one day, saw an anti-lfd thread, and thought “Oh nice that’s an awesome way to placate the classic community!!!” But over the last day there have been so many threads and posts against the decision to not include it, so I really wonder what the majority view actually is. One thing I do think though, Wrath was the most subscribed to period of the game for a reason, it was where the original version of the game came together with extra convenience and seemed to appeal to a larger mass of people. I understand the dungeon finder came in at the end, but still I have seen so many people expressing hype at the thought of wrath classic and I have to think lfd was a part of that since it was such a significant addition to the game. But hey maybe I am wrong and that’s just me being naive.
All you have to do is look at the past 2 retail expansions to see that.
"I am having trouble breaking 450 DPS is dungeons and in raids. I did Kara with a PuG and was only able to manage 500 dps tops. I am currently running a Combat spec I had found on Wowhead stating it is the most viable combat spec. I open with garrote and spam sinister strike to build combo points and…’
Dude this is you on Feb 2nd and now you’re giving other a hard time on the forums? Good to see you found a guild to carry you on the easiest class to play bro. Now go stand in Dal and beg for more carries.
“RDF ruined the social aspect of wow” - Ion
Meanwhile…
$60 level boosts, mage boosts and mass gold buying from 3rd party RMT sites.
Your right Ion, i won’t be playing WOTLK classic now, thanks!
Blockquote - Again, if the community was so happy with Vanilla / TBC’s in built systems why is 98% of group forming traffic done via a third-party addon ?
That’s just it - We’re not happy. Which is why we are confused and angry at Blizzard’s lack of vision here, and only listening to the “sweatys”. I think almost everyone who plays Classic version of WoW was expecting this eventually coming in Wrath-Classic.
Feels like wow devs are out of touch with the current players - LFD a would just be a good quality of life of a lot of players
wasn’t it only added near the end? just pretend you’re playing early wrath
there’s that phrase again
when people invoke it to get some change/feature, it’s always bad news
Yeah I know right, everything should be as tedious as possible in a game we play for fun!!!11111one
As if dungeon finder is any less personal than grabbing random people from chat to form a group. The difference is the cross server pool made it way more possible to get a group when you needed it, rather than burn time looking for that tank or healer, if you ever find one. You seriously have a more personal connection some random hunter plucked from chat to fill the last group spot? This was a very bad decision.
What stops you from finding dungeon groups the old way? You act like they removed trade chat. From this thread it sounds like there are enough people arguing for both sides. Enough where the people who hate LFD can just shout in trade chat for an hour finding a group and the others can just queue up.
People who spam trade or LFG trying to find a group are literally sitting in town. Instead of spamming and worrying about that I can just queue and go out and do dailies, quest, do professions.
Classic was a different experience because of the relaunch of an old game that everyone got to go back to the roots “hey man you playing warrior how is it leveling”, “Hey is rogue hard to level?”
TBCC has proven now that the “new” has worn off of classic it’s just not the case anymore. I’ve done dungeons in TBCC and no one even talks its just a bunch of spam in /4 LFG. You join the group and do your run. You’re living in nostalgia land. To be fair so was I. I did not want LFD in classic or anything like that in TBCC but going through it now understand LFD was really not that bad all things considered. I’m there to run a dungeon, I want to get in, get my loot and get out. If I want to be social in this game I’ll converse in trade chat, Get in a guild even PvP there are so many other ways to socialize in this game if that’s what tickles your fancy.
I stopped playing TBCC because if I want to level another character it’s just quest. Everyone is still getting boosted. I would like to at least see dungeon finder for levels 15-70. I’ll quest through northrend just help me want to play longer by getting my other characters to northrend.
Better yet, Create servers with LFD enabled and servers without it. I would be super curious on how the population is distributed across those servers. I have a feeling I know the answer to that question already.
that will be inoperable, blizzard said possibility of disabling the LFG tools, community wants it, come on man. I mean how can boosters get paid if their jobs are on the line?
For real. These anti lfd people are the most smooth brain people I’ve ever seen.
If you hate dungeon finder so much (which is honestly a weird thing to hate) then stay on vanilla or tbc. Leave the original game alone.
Blizz said youre not getting LFD. Try focusing your impotent rage where it belongs.
do you seriously not see the issue with cross-realm dungeons
you want to destroy server community in the name of convenience
we have a word for that mentality: retail
I support no LFD tool being added. I’ve had more enjoyment and better interactions with people when we aren’t tossed into some group via an automated system.
No RDF is better than the Wrath version.
I could see some sort of upgrade to the LFG tool that actually alerted you when there were enough players ready being a happy middle ground.
I care less about server-integrity and living breathing world or all the other points people keep arguing over. RDF promulgated and normalized toxicity. One could hardly complete a hUP because the mount was ressed and the only way to do that was to kick you mid-dungeon. Being a subpar dps class or gear meant insta-kick and another hour in queue. Ninjaing was rampant. I don’t think paying for tank service existed before RDF. Or worse tank-queue-quit service, where a non-tank queues you as a tank group and quits immediately. RDF was a terrible mess.
Benefit?
Paid server transfer if you had the misfortune to be on a realm with a shrinking population so I agree with your assessment.
I also agree dungeon finder should be included. If I decide to play (probably will since the spouse and some friends are hyped for it) the absence of that feature will not affect me personally. But I realize it is a vital tool for some not in my position with a ready-made group when I want it.
I blame Glinda because I was beginning to look forward to getting a Perky Pug too and that’s gonna be out.
Unless they are planning to put that pet in the cash shop and I will be sad.
Come on, Blizzard.
You guys have said that you want to make fun games that people want to play. Removing this feature is removing the enjoyment for many. Please reconsider this decision.
Good thing it’s classic WRATH which had the feature thanks for playing its not vanilla classic which didn’t have it
If you want to get all conspiratorial about it, sure, why not? I dont think they would have to stoop so low with as many credulous marks willing to open their wallets and throw cash at them but stranger things have happened I guess.
Keep in mind though, dead/dying servers, population imbalances and so on are player created issues and they create those issues out of sheer laziness and covetousness so at the very least shine the light the other way too because its not like this crowd is above reproach.
Maybe Blizz saves some money on the backend somehow by not including it. Maybe they think it will be abused/exploited like everything else and want to spare themselves the headache of dealing thousands of player reports. Maybe they just want to earn brownie points with the hardcore classic crowd. Maybe they just want to build a more enduring classic experience which makes them more money over time.
All I know is there is the reason they give us and then there is the real reason which usually benefits them in some way, shape or form.
