I’m a returning retail player and have only been playing mythic+. I’m not a fantastic player, but I hit 3k last season and am close to hitting it again as a tank. There are a couple issues that I’ve noted that I want to share with the community and, hopefully, blizzard records feedback.
1. Halls of Atonement: This is a seriously cool dungeon. the theming is top notch and the bosses are fun. However, it is a key I dread to get because it lacks any interesting routing, has really frustrating pathing, and the timer is so tight. The count is so egregiously high that i’m having to fully clear this dungeon to get the count right. The slayers are awful and seemingly everywhere, and the pathing of the mobs is unreliable, given they pause for 30 sec to turn to stone. I barely squeak by the timer, even with really good play from the team. It’s just unfun.
2. Ara-Kara: This is my first time playing Ara-Kara and its awful. I’m actually okay with everything, except the count is too high and the first boss scaling on 12+ keys is too rough. The first mega pull is fun, but half my keys die to the first boss or the first pack inside the 3rd boss room. Also, I don’t think we can trust the community to vote on dungeons in the future because of dungeons like this.
3. Dawnbreaker: The first boss is the most frustrating boss in the entire dungeon pool. As a tank, i’m trying to bait the pools to the edge, then move the boss for the beam. However, she’ll just stand there and refuse to move. I just did a run with 3x melee and we just had to abandon because she wouldn’t move from pools.
Some dungeons I like
1. Eco Dome: Great Dungeon! It feels fresh and the trash is fair. I can skip a sentinel or go a different route at the end. I can use my enchanting skill to stun mobs or get really clever with pulling trash into the second boss. Top notch
2. Gambit: Knock out all of the trash in one big pull in the beginning and then have fun the rest of the way. Hooktail can be a pain, but it always seems fair, unlike the dawnbreaker boss.
3. Streets: The last boss is likely the best boss in the entire pool. Super creative, fun, and fair. It feels like a lot of trash, but its not bad, as I can get creative. If this was halls, I would have to clear the entire courtyard, but, thankfully, its not.
All in all, it has been fun, but some of these bosses and dungeons put a damper on my desire to ever go above 3k and I’ll end up just doing 14’s or 15s of the good dungeons, simply because the others feel terrible to play.
