Dungeon Deserter for Fellower Dungeon?

I’d like to share my thoughts on the Dungeon Deserter debuff and suggest some adjustments to improve the experience for players.

-Dungeon Deserter shouldn’t count against players for the first offense within a set timeframe** (e.g., 12 or 24 hours)

-Dungeon Deserter should not apply to Fellower Dungeon.

Addition notes:

I was recently kicked out of a group for pulling a pack of mobs before the tank, just once. It was an honest mistake, and no one in the group said anything or asked me to stop—they just kicked me. It happened right after the first boss. I understand the mistake. After accepting my mistake, I wanted to queue up for a Fellower Dungeon, which is meant for solo players, but was locked out due to the debuff. This seems unreasonable since solo content shouldn’t be restricted by group-based penalties.

Lastly, regarding not counting the debuff for the first offense, I feel that some players (especially new ones) might have low DPS or make small mistakes. Kicking them for minor issues, then penalizing them with a deserter debuff, seems unnecessarily harsh. Sometimes, groups can be quick to remove players over little things.

I’ve never gotten a Deserter Debuff on a Follower dungeon.

same, I go in there to get mage food when I need it.

Same. I’ve used them to turn in quests and leave right away.

I think what they’re saying is that, after getting kicked from their non-follower dungeon and then trying to queue for a follower dungeon, the deserter debuff they got from being kicked made it so they weren’t allowed to queue for the follower dungeon. Which is kinda wack, and possibly an oversight on Blizz’s part.

The way you worded the title it sounded like you got deserter for leaving the follower dungeon.

But yeah i think if you get a deserter debuff, you should still be able to queue for one of them since you’d be the only human player in there. Perhaps Blizz will change that, perhaps not.

I agree with you here, you should still be able to do follower dungeons with the debuff.

I thought about it and your suggestion makes sense.
Especially if you’re levelling in DF, if something happens to get you removed could use that time to check it out in a follower dungeon.

Maybe we could make that mode not check the flag for it.

Makes more sense. But even with that, a Debuff is pretty blanket for all instanced content. Maybe it is also meant to be a punishment to say, “Sorry, a dungeon is a dungeon”. /shrug Guessing OP will avoid

Some tanks have egos. I’d let you tank it or path it to me. Sadly, most PUGs are just mean. I would stick to follower dungeons and Delves for regular loot and then hit heroics once you learn more about the humans in this game. Also, a quick “Hey all” lets them know you are friendly and not there to be a problem.

Just my opinion in all of it, and I wish the OP better luck in future runs.

I agree. I think solo content should be free of group penalties.

This’ll get abused.

When you join a dungeon group, always check to see of the others are in a guild together. They are on discord and, if offended, will kick you fast. In the broadest general terms, this doesn’t happen much at all. But if you ask an innocent question, like why does the rogue not learn to play – boom, you are gone!

ima do me sum fellower dungeons bro

I didn’t even know deserter prevented follower dungeons. I can’t remember the last time I got deserter. It’s such a non issue.
