Dungeon Deserter BS

Hey blizzard, here is an idea. How about before you people release 8.2, you fix the debuff issue? Im doing TWs on my 112 DK and granted I am not that great, so I got kicked out. I SHOULD be able to hop right back into another run to try again but no, I get a debuff for “Deserting”. I didn’t leave the party, they ABANDONED me. Y ou guys need to fix this glitch/error, because that’s what it is, a messed up time sink that just wastes players money/time as youre stuck waiting to do something you shouldn’t have to be punished for in the first place.

(Sorry forgot I was on my DH when making the post…lol)
And I know all of you will tell me to stop whining, wait and requeue, but a half hour debuff when there is less than 3 hours left in the event is an unacceptable thing, especially when you can do nearly 2 runs in under that debuff time…

I’m betting we’re not getting the whole story here.

Also, the deserter debuff exists to punish people who deserve to be kicked. It does catch innocent people as well, but removing dungeon deserter is not the solution.

Getting kicked sucks. Best to just let it go.

Latest kick for me we just started the dungeon and tank went afk. All I said was hello tank anytime now…few seconds later I saw a loading screen with the dungeon deserter.

It is neither a glitch nor error.

But… TWing is a whole week? It’s not like this was a 1 day event or anything.

or you COULD take the time to find out why you’re “not that great” before imposing yourself on another group…

It’s not a glitch or anything. Deserter for being kicked is blizzards way of saying get good scrub. That being said, you shouldn’t be able to kick people from islands unless they are afk.

The problem was that some tanks would use the kick to be able to “random” into the dungeons that they wanted. I remember tanks sitting down at the beginning of an instance and saying “kick me”.

It does need to be removed for people that are kicked for not being that good, I agree to kicking toxic players and them getting a debuff, but if you are trying a new spec like tanking or healing and do not do well and get kicked you do not deserve the debuff. In my case my DK kept getting hit with a 10 second root in the arcatraz and the funny thing is I was the one to die, no one else, I used my taunts and held the mobs around my location and another player ran ahead to pull a giant mob and it took me out. I was told I need to use my taunts,(which I was doing) then I am back in Shattrath. So, because some idiot over pulls I get punished as theyre a group of friends and needed a tank. it is dumb for someone else to suffer when the issue was not their fault in the first place. that’s all I am saying

Well I agree a player shou;ld be “good” at their role in a dungeon, yet as I have yet to state, I had run 3 instance previously without fault or giant disaster, so when I, as the tank, was holding my own and doing my job and nobody was killed, there should be no reason for the kick, I really think they guy was just prejudice to worgens lol

well with things like life, net issues, running alts, time is a valuable commodity.

WoW is a video game. A hobby. Typically, it’s what you do after all that stuff. However, that doesn’t mean that players should be able to skip through because they don’t have much time.

Salty much? I have never said i was that “great” and mostly I am good in groups and never a burden, I did my role, I kept mobs back and everyone alive, I was swarmed, died rezzed and popped back in to finish my job and then was kicked after I managed to make sure every mob was dead…

sounds like you and I just pugged into a buddy group and were the odd man out lol. Ik once I had a druid join the group and I was kicked for not healing the team, I was a balance druid in the DPS role, seems silly when youre kicked for dumb reasons

not at all.

i was simply responding to

Maybe start earlier than the last day then.

How is the game supposed to know any of that? All the game can see is that someone got kicked and applies the deserter debuff accordingly.

Fair point, you got me there lol, but you have to admit that it sucks when you are doing what you are supposed to do and someone else messes up and you get all the blame and recieeve a heavy wait time as a punishment. I mean normally I Mian a hunter so I am used to hearing how it is all my fault for every stubbed toe in a dungeon lol. Thank BfA for the Growl auto disable in dungeons now lol

when you kick a person it gives a reason why they were kicked, personally I have never had to kick anyone out of a run, so I am not sure if you just type why yu want to kick them or if it is a drop down box with a reason list? if its not the latter then they should implement one. Honestly, Being a toxic jerk or just plain sucking at your role should be the only reasons for kicking a player in my opinion, also a long DC or going AFK every 2 minutes as well. But those last two should be like an auto detect thing in the games system. I know that NO game is perfect or will ever run smoothly 100% of the time, but there are simple fixes to a lot of the games bugs and issues, if the higher ups would just let people do them.
