Dungeon Completion

Blizzard, please make it a requirement for the zoomers to kill all the main bosses in a dungeon in order for them to get their precious chunk of XP. I want to quest and do the dungeons for the quests, but I’m running into jerks who only care about “XP per hour”.

Make your own group. Control it as you like. No need to remove the speed runs when the real issue lies on your own shoulders. If YOU want to play differently, then it is up to YOU to figure out how.

I’m talking about random dungeon finder bro.

Yeah unfortunatly it wont stop all people from leaving if they do that still cause killing one boss and leaving avoids desserter leaving only the q cooldown (10min vs 30min) cause some peeps such as myself really dont want to sit through some dungeons for one reason or another.

I’m okay with that. I do that sometimes. I’m just mad at zoomers that won’t let me finish my dungeon quests.

The speed runners are the ones who need to be treated like the outlier, not the other way around. The default should never cater to that mentality.

OP has a fair complaint. I have even stated in the beginning of a dungeon I need this quest(s) to be completed and I get “I already did it” or no response at all, and zoom we are off. I have had a few nice players who point out quest items or will go backward in dungeon after group had completed last boss to help me complete my quests. But these are a rare occurance.

Well I’m one of those ><. I should review my behaviour. I actually don’t even take the dungeon quest.

It’s a sad system as it stands, not alot of thought or care went into it.

Lol, except for the whole M+ thing, right? There isn’t a “need” to take the dungeons slowly, but if you hope to even compete in the MDI, you need to learn the routes. I would also venture to say there are more people just wanting to get in, get the job done, maybe focus a boss for loot, than there are people wanting to full clear every single time.

Again, the issue lies in you wanting to control how people run dungeons, but being unwilling to put in the effort to make your own group. There is a solution, so use it.

But why isn’t it the reverse? Why isn’t it on the people who want to speedrun to make their own group?

You can always return to a dungeon and do the quest yourself once you’re strong enough to solo it. That or you can form a party that wants to do the quests.

Where are you getting this problem? While levelling, most people want to clear every corner and every quest in order to get the xp (except maybe BRD). At max level, gear from WQs combined with from from 8.2/.3 areas quickly make normal and heroic dungeons irrelevant. Then, in mythic, the random dungeon finder is no longer used and people in those groups want to do every boss and usually any available WQ. After that, it’s mythic+ where quests are not a concern. Timewalking maybe? But, the people in those are already max level and the quests in there are trivial.

This would be my guess. I’m sure there’s a lot of people trying to blow through these for the weekly and Timereaver farming. If that’s the case, OP, sorry but Timewalking is not the time for you to go do leisurely questing. There’s max level people just trying to get that final boss and get out. Go do on level dungeon finder if you want that.

As someone who levels as tank when available, I feel I need more context: which dungeon(s)? Because going out of your way on some is a real demand on 4 other people’s time.

Op, you are not more important than them

the quests don’t scale to your level so there would be actually no point in doing them

Because the speed runners are the majority. This is why dungeons have become what they are. This is why dungeons are speed runs in general. If more people wanted to go slow, more groups would. The minority should not dictate for all, when there is an easy solution. The problem is on you to fix. Make your own group.
