Dungeon Booting Palooza

I have a few issues lately, that are constantly being put in my gameplay, because of how often they occur.
I have played this game since it’s release in 2004. I have played on both EU and US servers. I have seen the game and the players change and shift. But the things / the attitude / the UN Kindness, that goes on these days… it’s just not a pleasant part of the game AT ALL.

I would REALLY Love If Blizz would handle people booting players from groups for absolutely ridiculous reasons.
A Player should NOT be penalized with a 30 min. no dungeon entry, when You get booted for dc’ing - I was Literally gone for ONE Minute! The game had an “update” when I was thrown out.
That is not a player abandoning a group or dungeon. That is the grp. leader being impatient and not even giving someone time to come back into game. You can clearly tell when a player has DC’d.

I was in a grp. yesterday, a Warlock’s pet pulled agro when everyone jumped down from above in Dire Maul. The grp. leader attempted to boot the Lock, due to “Pet pulling”.
There needs to be some way to monitor some of this.

Give a choice of 3 reasons that Bilzzard would find reasonable to kick a player from a group instead of someone coming up with any 'ol “reason” as to why to kick someone from a grp. I was in another group, and a player’s dogs got into a fight. The player asked for one min. they booted her immediately! So obviously, it does not need to be a unanimous vote, because I disagreed and voted NO. Yet, they were still booted.

Group leaders are chosen at random by the game. I didn’t join with that Leader knowingly, and I didn’t Choose to have a Power grubbing player for a leader - the game did that. In about 80% of any qued dungeon or raids I have been in lately, someone has prompted to boot a player from the group for absolutely absurd reasons! And more often than Not, they get passed.

I am certain, that I am not alone in how I feel about this. People getting booted for asking for help, for being a “newb”, for needing a second because something has happened that will take their attention away for a few seconds, for not running fast enough, for pets pulling agro when the leader chooses to jump a ramp, for dc’ing because the game you are playing has an update and it flukes you out … those are not fair reasons to boot players AND on top of that, give them a penalty that will not allow them to find another group for 30 min. and label them a “deserter”.

I would just love to see a little more kindness and fairness in dungeon gameplay. If you are so “Elite” that you can’t give a player 30 seconds for whatever reason, answer a question, or help them find their way if they get lost … why are you doing a time walking or LFR dungeon / raid?

Maybe you could offer those dungeons like time walking or LFR raids in two modes, where a player can choose - Advanced or NEW player mode. That way, new players could take their time to learn and actually ENJOY a dungeon rather than feel stressed that they can’t keep up with a lvl 80 with 2000 speed and a Pally Pony when they are lvl 25, crap for gear and never seen Strathholme before, but might get booted for it!
Maybe?

Then you are encouraging people to force a DC to avoid the penalty for leaving, which people will do. There should never be a benefit to getting kicked instead of dropping group manually.

This is just wrong. The deserter debuff is in queued dungeons, which have vote to kick and no group lead.

Which part of pulling half an instance do you find to be unreasonable to remove someone over?

Again, not how that works. The guide role has no additional authority except for the ability to pass the guide role to someone else.

It is a majority vote as to whether or not the group wishes to continue playing with someone. Only a 60% majority is needed, unless there is a partial premade group where it then requires 80% of the vote.

You say a majority of vote, but the majority of people will just press a button, often the kick one.

You’re barking up the wrong tree here. Chronic official forum posters want nothing more than power over other players. The ability to impose a 30-minute penalty on anyone is something they’ll defend endlessly.

The vote-kicking isn’t policed by Blizzard and it’s never going to be. They may eventually just outright remove the deserter debuff because kicking ppl because of loot competition is out of control right now in MoP Classic. Or they may just give them PL instead.

I think what some miss is, while the above is true, there is also a bit of a factor of how long the D/C lasts, like if it is due to an update, losing internet, etc? it could very well be the length of the debuff, more so if Blizzard reduces the length of the debuff.

Lock forgot to dismiss pet before jomping, but it is one of those thigns that could have also been prevented by following the path Blizzard likely intended players to follow (as outlined by main objective list) so Inreasonable? maybe, but also one that anyone else could have prevented so kicking might seem like a way to avoid taking responsibility.

So most chronic official forum posters are Karens? that might check out :P, but then again, some of the changes some ask for just shifts that power to others, is it is a damned if you do, damned if you don’t situation for Blizzard.

Blizzard doesn’t want people queuing for dungeons. I don’t expect they’ll make any quality of life changes there.
