We’re a few weeks in, more than enough time for us to have committed some truly sad mistakes.
Me?
I somehow thought talent points came every other level, and so, got the joy of spending 13 points all at once! And I only realized it because my buddy got talking about talents.
I drowned. As an undead Warlock. I wasn’t even AFK - I was engrossed in a chat until too late.
So, what heinous mistakes have you made so far?

Whoops! I’ll fix that at 60
Made the run to Badlands to connect my paths. In Wetlands I made the mistake of going the wrong path, which lead me outside of Grim Batol.

Jumped off the org to uc zepp too early >.<
We swapped late at night from Stalagg to Smolderweb on day 3. I went to the new server, re-created my character, and leveled up to about 20-22 before I went to take my first screenshot.
I’d given her the wrong skin tone, and she looks horrible, pasty, and pixelated when zoomed in. I cannot stand looking at her in closeup.
I considered re-rolling, but I’d already leveled from 1-15 on the stress, Stalagg live with queues, and now on Smolderweb. I didn’t want to do it again.
Now, I’m 41. It’s too late to re-roll…and I hate the way my toon looks.
I too know this feel, brother. 
I still haven’t uninstalled retail wow. Probably the biggest ongoing mistake thus far
Auto run in duskwood and half paying attention until I ran into a big ugly stitched up elite mob that 3 shot me before I could turn and run. Well hello to you too old friend /splat
Ran into the undercity elevator too late. Got through the door before it closed but the elevator started moving. Died. Should have known better
I’ve drowned a few times and forgotten what faction I am and wandered into horde quest hubs.
Quested in Goldshire with low durability on my items without paying attention. Big mistake. My pants broke when I drowned(I drown a lot) fighting murlocs at crystal lake. My whispers were mildly traumatizing until I hit repair at the vendor.
I lost a lot of early money trying to buy every spell and skill every time I leveled. I couldn’t understand why I was broke all the time and realized that I didn’t actually need to use most of that stuff to level. 
I’ve wandered away from groups to grab a nearby herb… then tore back with 5 or 6 mobs on my tail.
I may or may not have right clicked the BB horde fp guy to fly out, not remembering I was alliance…
Dumbest mistake so far is rolling on Herod and not being able to play until blizzard fixed the issues.
was so excited about getting that razorfen kraul group, and wanted to hurry and get there so I wouldn’t be the slow one, mistimed a walk on the lift and fell off of freewind post. man thats a long walk from the GY
I got to level 9on launch day before realizing i skipped my earth totem quest and had to walk all the way from thunderbluff to red cloud mesa
Not using the AH and vendoring items instead.
Eep! Flight masters hit like trucks haha. I think I did that with the one in Booty Bay as well
I don’t think I’ve done anything too bad so far.
…That worries me because all of that not messing up WILL catch up with me all at once at the worst moment. Then I’ll do something epically stupid.
It’s gonna happen.
