Dumb Thought : Kaldorei reinforcements and the pack of Alpha Prime

Okay, TL:DR mode.

The Kaldorei have never been less numerous than they are now.

However, the Worgen Curse originated from their people, part of the machinations of Ralaar Fangfire, whom would come to be known as Alpha Prime and was instrumental in spreading the Worgen Curse across both the Kaldorei, and later on, the Gilnean people.

Most of Alpha Prime’s pack still sleeps beneath the Mother Tree’s roots in the Emerald Dream. Alpha Prime is dead, however, torn to pieces during the opening phases of the Gilnean content, and his Pack remains slumbering beneath the Mother Tree still.

Thousands of Kaldorei, many of them transformed against their will during the War of the Satyr as the Druids of the Pack turned on them in a frenzy of rage and bloodlust as Goldrinn’s ferocity overwhelmed their senses, and the followers of Alpha Prime knew this would happen.

We’ve seen that, with alchemical and spiritual aid, the Worgen curse can be made to be somewhat controllable, if never truly reversible. What if Malfurion decides enough is enough, and takes advantage of these coming three years of peace to reach into the Emerald Dream and, with the aid of the Gilnean Worgen and his remaining Druids, subject these slumbering Kaldorei Worgen to the same ritual and grant them their minds back.

Suddenly, the Kaldorei are no longer on the brink of extinction. The Worgen Curse isn’t transferred down to your children, so their species isn’t going to disappear in a few generations. A huge population of extraordinarily pissed off Worgen to occupy Ashenvale and bolster the battered and scarred Sentinels trying to keep the border secure.

It would make for an interesting Allied Race, drawing inspiration from two separate races, the Kaldorei and the Worgen, and their long slumber in the Emerald Dream may have altered their forms, both Worgen and Kaldorei, in ways not even the Arch Druid may have been able to predict.

Could certainly be cool. I think you could add a few things that would make them stand apart from the current NE and Worgen in the game. Things like altered height and posture as well as stranger fur color and patterns could go a long way. They could also bring back some of the teeth back to the NE in terms of story (But we all know how that usually goes. But let me dream.)

:clap:t6: Give :clap:t6: Them :clap:t6: Tails :clap:t6:

Also a more fey/fluffier appearance maybe?

I do not understand the obsession with tails.

That said, making them basically werewuff versions of the arcane fox-thing mount, or the spirit wolf-whatsis form for the Ardenweald travel power, would work. Purples and blues and arcane glowy eyes regardless of form, maybe toss in some (smol) antlers as a nod to Cenarius, or green (Emerald Dream, or nature alone) and gold fur (cuz wasn’t Goldrinn literally golden-furred?). Hell, even some black/red/purple to reflect the growing corruption of the Dream.

Still wouldn’t get me to roll an elf but it’d be interesting to see something of a more ethereal nature that isn’t a velf.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Darkshore, Ashenvale and Felwood got updated to become a massive haunted forests but with a more magical enchanted vibe.

Basically what I wanted Ardenweald to be. A magical enchanted forest that looks like something out of a fairy tale but dangerous and deadly to trespassers.

Kaldorei which took part in the Night Warrior ritual and recently awakened Kaldorei worgen stalk the forests now and anyone that enters their domain are never heard from again.

I’d prefer to see those who were touched by the Night Warrior’s power, complete with black eyes, now find themselves with glowing white eyes instead and find the forest regrowing in a way no Druid can explain, the very grass, bushes, mosses and trees blooming and growing almost like Ardenweald plant-life, especially where several such Elves gather together.

The Fel influence within Ashenvale fades almost immediately leaving only a few desperate, terrified holdouts of Satyr, while Felwood shifts immediately into a pitched battle between the remaining Demons and the Kaldorei, with the Demons gibbering and shrieking about crying moons, blood moons and tears that burn. Darkshore is a more peaceful transition, with glowing lilies blooming where the moon-touched Kaldorei dwell and spreading out towards Teldrassil’s smouldering roots, which in turn are slowly becoming consumed with glowing mosses and fungi and tiny, almost ethereal shoots of new tree-life growing from the charred bark and wood, just waiting for the right opportunity to regrow with a blessing far more potent than mere Aspects could provide.

I stopped reading here, knowing I was satisfied and happy with the state of things.
