Man, dying to that skull mob that roams around silver pine forest is lame AF. Was being so careful playing and it just blindsided me. Kinda sucks and in a way, makes me not want to start again, but then again I want to keep going! What a dilemma lol

Yep, and get used to it. There are tons of things like this that will get you unless you know the game inside and out.

This game is not designed to work with a hardcore game mode.

Here are some:

  1. Roaming elites in zones where mobs are much lower level
  2. Random mobs that thrash and hit you 3 or 4 times for no reason
  3. Random elites that poison you for HUGE damage values
  4. Random mobs that do insane magic damage out of no where
  5. Mobs that NEVER leash and follow you forever
  6. Hyperspawns where mobs instantly spawn on you after so many are killed
  7. Caves
  8. Random max level guards in the middle of nowhere
  9. Mobs that agro with their entire pack
  10. Mobs that call for help when killed
  11. ETC

In a non-hardcore game mode these things are fine. They add color and spice to the game and make it as good as it is.

In hardcore though, these are unfair, impossible for new people to deal with, and make the game bad.

Especially because there is no out, like in other games. You can’t log out to escape. You can’t use a scroll to escape. There is no cheat death mechanic. You just die.

I recommend downloading an addon called Unitscan. It will alert you of elites with a loud siren and mark them.

I almost pepsid to 3 elite orcs in Loch Modan.

They’re just walking around.

With my extremely limited knowledge of HC stuff, i feel like that’s why people like it? idk. That sense of danger, and overcoming odds to progress your character.

This one was on bb… I’m in methless cave? The druid in the N.E. area. I fight my way through all the grell, this elite grell comes up to me I get it down. A small grell comes at me, I tab it and cast my spell… tab hits the druid instead, yep I died.:rofl:

Note to self, when you tab something make sure it is what you want before attacking.

deathlog is a fantastic addon. Not only do you see who dies in your faction, you see how they died and their “last words” ie. the last thing they chatted before they died. Some are hilarious. Saw a 27 die earlier from falling damage. Brutal.

There are mage mob in E or WPL (can’t remember where exactly) which hit very hard for their level. Avoid them or use Arcane protection potions.

If you have HS to Bloodhoof Village take care. You arrive, you stand in the fire :frowning: 12 Dam per tick.
