So, I like the new shoulder capes from the trading post (there are probably one or two things I’d have done differently) but one issue is that the colors don’t quite match the other outfit colors. For example, at the time of writing this, my character has the Dueler’s Aquatic Shoulder Cape transmogged with the Wanderer’s Aquatic Scarf and the Wanderer’s Aquatic Cloak. Despite them all being “Aquatic”, the color of the shoulder armor is slightly different than the scarf and cloak (it’s a bit brighter). Could we please get a Blizzard artist to look over these and have the shoulder cape colors adjusted to match properly? Especially since there are more to come, and having them all match properly on release would be quite nice.
The devs seem to enjoy making as many shades as humanly possible for everything, only to have very few of them actually mesh together. That has been a thing since forever, and it is annoying as all get-out.
The amount of different golds they use on gear that does not match with anything else is infuriating.
They should just make stuff dyable- other games have been doing it for years.
You are not wrong.
I wish they would but apparently how they make gear prevents dying, so odds are if they ever did it would only be gear from the expansion they add it onward that could be died since they aren’t likely to go back and change every item from vanilla to present. We can dream though.
The irony is that Diablo has had it for a while now…
I’d be fine with that imo. Second best time to start doing it is “now” and all that.
It’s not that they don’t match, and more that some of these newer items have a lot more in-built shading drawn into their textures. You’re really just seeing highlights and shadows. The scarfs in particular have a lot of emphasized folds that aren’t actually there in the geometry, while the shoulder capes have a lot of highlighting due to being a mostly exposed, and upward facing surface.
This is one of those things that go through my head on a daily basis that I have no one to complain to in real life about it. This is very cathartic for me, I thank you for bringing it up!
Yes, so few colors match. Even worse on my Dracthyr with those armor colors. I guess that’s where we can really try to flex our creativity, dealing with limited options. But it’s still irritating. Hmph.
The scarves are new, too, though. And the geometry for them is there for most of it.
The shoulder capes are just a slightly different shade, and it’s weirdly noticeable.
