I don’t give 2 about Vanilla myself. Skipped it in 2019, will skip it now again. (well, got to level 40 and quit) Didn’t touch SoM or SoD either. Not my vibe. Nothing wrong with that. Glad yall are getting what you want.
BUT BROOOOO
IM SO HYPED TO GO BACK TO OUTLANDS OOOOOOOOOOF. I joined Classic when TBCC came out. Got that 58 pala boost. Went tanking dungeons. Learned how to sustain mana for more than 3-4 pulls. Getting Lichen shield at 62 FELT GLORIOUUUUUUSSSSSS
Oh my god it was so much fun dungeon grinding in TBC. Beats me why, but I HAD A BLAST, despite the fact I played solo.
Went on wowhead dressing room earlier today and remade T4 and T5 outfits for prot paladins OMFGGGGG I CANTTT WAAAAAAIT MAN!!!
There are some hardcore players. For sure. But really, do they make up the majority or the minoriry?
If I had to guess, given my observations of 2019, the REAL HARDCORE Population is not that large. And even less would leave over said changes. And by real I mean those that would punch through their monitors upon seeing Alliance paladins getting seal of blood in TBCC.
But lack of changes is less likely to attract more people.
Don’t get me wrong, I get the idea of #NoChanges, and I can understand why some love it. But we all also saw the amount of people that didn’t love it.
So really, it comes down to the balancing.
Do we keep it #NoChanges, make the few crazy nutjob fans happy and lose players?
Or do we make it #SomeChanges, keep the majority happy, attract more players, but potentially lose a few hardcore folks?
cmon bruh. Says right there. Have you talked to most WoW players to say that WoW is their personality? Per my observation, as a WoW player since ~2009, Vanilla has aged poorly in the eyes of the many.
Yeah I bet coming in late would definitely suck.
Early rush TBC was amazing, but you had to part of the early rush or at least within first 2-3 weeks to get that Kara Attune.
No, it was fine for weeks. For weeks people kept running dungeons and finding group was easy for everyone, due to sheer amount of people running them. Thousands on every server were running dungeons.
Summoning stones
flying
paladins get taunt and spiritual attunment
better itemization. MUCH BETTER.
arena
wider range of spec viability in PvE
Easier leveling (matters to some. And me)
Outland aesthetics
Shattrath. Perfect city.
Karazhan. The only raid I’ve ever had music on lol
Raids felt more raids, rather than a dummy target practice.
Lack of WB meta. Absolutely the worst part of vanilla to me.
daily quests / quest hubs
and the list goes on and on and on. This is just off the top of my head.
Vastly different experiences.
I enjoyed some of it. The leveling was good the first time around, quest rewards were decent, most of the dungeons were good, half the raids were good.
Other parts I did not enjoy, like the obnoxious rep grinding, the 27 attunements, profession grinding, mandatory professions due to gear and grinding that gear out, the gold grinding prior to dailies, group-limited buffs that force cheese comps, and class mechanics just being vanilla 2.0 but somehow more boring.
Really have zero desire to go back to spamming Fireball and nothing else, or being stuck playing Arcane (hate that terrible spec). Maybe if they gave us Cata class mechanics and itemization I’d play it, but otherwise I’m all set.
Also like it’s the most alt-unfriendly expansion ever so if you want to play an alt you get to do all that grinding nonsense twice. Hah.
We had pre-nerf in TBC Classic (before) the Wrath patch, and pre-nerf KJ was really fun also. Post nerf was no kidding 90% less difficult. Pre-nerf Kael’thas and Pre Nerf Lady Vashj were both really fun also, tho the RNG on Lady Vashj was wild.
